Simon Says ........ Mother's Day

wed-newchallenge-header

Happy Wednesday!  It's time for a new challenge at the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge Blog!

Simon Wednesday Challenge Blog

This week our theme is Mother's Day or a Special Girl theme - can't wait to see all the lovely creations that fill our gallery!  Here's my first card for today:

I used both the positive and the negative of the Floral Lace Heart die, attaching them to my carnation card base to allow the color to show through.  Then I just added this layered stamped flower (Hero Arts 3 Dotted Flowers cling set), some die-cut Folk Art Floral leaves, the sentiment (love the font!) from Simon's Best Mom Ever stamp set, and a couple of my favorite Hero Arts heart pearls.  I love how this turned out!

Here's another card for today, for sure a girly one, but with the sentiment, it could be for many occasions.

This one uses the Hero Arts Wreath of Leaves, stamped 3 times with peeled paint and shabby shutters distress inks.  Then I added my own silk bow and some My Favorite Things rolled roses, Simon's small Love You die as my sentiment, and some sequins to update it.

So what will you make for us this week?  As always Heidi has provided another $50.00 gift certificate to the fabulous Simon Says Stamp Superstore!

Wowwww such stunning cards!! I really love the top one in particular... I wonder if I could persuade you to enter it in our current challenge at In The Pink? It really would suit our theme so well, and would also have the effect of spreading the word too!! The address is:

I'm visiting from the SSS Wed. challenge blog to tell you how much I like this card! I think it was such a creative idea to use the heart as a background or base for the flower. I would never have thought about putting anything on top of such an intricate heart.

Lin these are GORGEOUS!!! I just love those rolled roses with that wreath stamp, and be still my heart the pink floral heart die card is just beautiful!!!

Beautiful cards! Does anyone know where I can purchase the Hero Arts set of 3 dotted floral stamp set?

Lin said...

@ Marti M: You aren't the first person to ask me that question! Those stamps have been discontinued, so your best bet is to look for a used set. Good luck!
