I found this pretty KaiserCraft Flutterby Long Wing paper last time I was at Archiver's, and tonight it occured to me that it would look nice with this beautiful lacey Artists Butterfly. So this card went together really quickly; I just rounded all the corners, stamped the butterfly on vellum with white and heat embossed it, then added it to the card, along with my sentiment, the butterfly trail and a few pearls. My husband was going by and asked if I had made that paper. When I said no, Mr. Economy asked me why I couldn't "since I have all these stamps". And I began to wonder if I couldn't just try that, so here is my result:
I used my old clear butterfly set, which contains 9 different butterflies, and stamped them with Versamark, then heat embossed them in white. Then I swirled on some worn lipstick distress ink. My butterfly on this one is 2 layers, a white one on cardstock using the same worn lipstick ink, and the top one a pearly pink vellum embossed in white. I was afraid to stamp directly on my homemade background because of the embossing, so I added my sentiment on a vellum strip. And for the same reason I used pearls this time for my butterfly trail.
Supplies: white cardstock, Kaisercraft FLUTTERBY Long Wing, white vellum, versamark and versafine onyx black inks, white embossing powder, clear embossing powder, pearls, Hero Arts stamps H5426 Artists Butterfly, AR130 Handwritten Sentiments, CL115 Designer Butterflies
white cardstock, white glossy cardstock, pink pearlized and white vellum, versamark ink and white embossing powder, versafine onyx black ink and clear embossing powder, worn lipstick distress ink, pearls, same stamps as above

ReplyDeleteYour hubby does sound more and more like mine..love that you referred to him as Mr Economy, I just call my hubs, Squeaky, as in so tight he squeaks. He says he'll take me to any restaurant I want as long as it has a drive-through and he has coupon. Gotta love 'em.
Blessings and thanks for your gorgeous inspiration today.
