One of my very favorite things to do is paper-piecing.......maybe because it goes back to my quilting days, finding just the right fabrics to put together to make a pleasing whole. Here in Florida my supplies and stamps are severely linited by what I could carry down here, but I loved playing with this technique with what I have! I made this for the Moxie Fab World's paper-piecing challenge and also for Hero Arts 50 Grand Celebration - we are coming up on 50,000 submissions in our flickr group!!
I started with a piece of white cardstock and stamped the Clouds Background using tumbled glass distress ink. Next I overstamped the card-sized Flower Text stamp over it in black ink, and again on each of the patterned papers. Then I cut the various leaves and flowers out and pieced them to the background, first outlining the stems with a green marker. The leaves were glued directly to the stamped background, but the flowers were popped, and I added some tiny buttons, too, to most of the flowers. Then the whole panel was glued to an aqua card base.
supplies: white and aqua cardstock, Hero Arts S5215 Clouds, tumbled glass distress ink, S5506 Flower Text, versafine onyx black ink, various Cosmo Cricket designer papers and others, tiny buttons, green and orange markers for details
Edited to add that this card was chosen as a winner in the Moxie Fab Stamp it! Paper Piecing Technique Challenge!!
