Welcome to a new challenge at Simon Says Stamp! This week we're calling it "We're So Trendy", and we're using chevrons, hexagons, or neon. I made you 2 cards this week.
Here I used Die-Namics Chevron Stripes dies, and Hero Arts stamps: Heydey Sentiments, Stitched Frame (large flower and leaf), and Layered Flowers (small flower). The flowers are pieced from Lawn Fawn's Bright Side paper pad, Cosmo Cricket's Material Girl, and centered with a Candi dot.
And here's my card using hexagons.
I again used some Die-Namics dies, the Hexagon set, and 2 Hero Arts clear stamp sets: Find Joy for the sentiment, and Dots N Flowers for the leaves. Most of the papers are from October Afternoon's Sidewalks paper pad, and I also used the Cuttlebug embossing folder called Wicker Weave, and an edge punch from EK Success called Scallop Diamond.
My first introduction to hexagons was many years ago when I made a quilt called Grandmother's Flower Garden, which is made of nothing but hexagons.
So, which will you choose? You can also make something using neon colors. The random winner of this week's challenge will get a $50.00 gift voucher from the Simon Says Stamp Superstore, courtesy of Heidi.
I'd like to enter my chevron card into The Card Design Handbook's Repitition Challenge at the Moxie Fab World.
Neat cards, Lin! I think my fave of the two would be the quilt-inspired card. Love the flower made from hexies!
ReplyDeleteI love both of those, but the one with the chevrons is my favorite. You have such a talent for combining colors and patterns, which is evident on the hexagon card. If I tried that it would hurt your eyes just to look at it!
ReplyDeleteThese are both great cards! I really love the hexagon one!
