Sewing and stitching challenge

Cath has chosen a number of fun sections from Paper Craft's latest publication and she's inspired me to enter almost all of them.  This one is called The Paper Crafts Tips & Tricks Week: Stitching and Sewing Challenge.  Having done lots of cross-stitch in my time, I dug out some old perforated paper and a pattern from a project that I had done years ago and made a little piece that I can frame or hang - I've always loved these words; I think they're from Dickens' A Christmas Carol.  This project coincided with the arrival of these Wplus9 dies that I had ordered, and so here is what I did for this challenge. It measures roughly 5 1/2 " by 6 3/4".

supplies: cream, red, and craft cardstock, design papers from previous year's Graphic 45 Christmas collection and Moda's Daisy D's gingham, perforated cross-stitch paper, black embroidery floss, Wplus9 Seasonal Sentiments dies
