Stencils are popping up everywhere, not just in the paper crafting department; my friend Carol found a set of stencils at our local craft store that are 4 different designs, each just a single strip, and what's so fun about them is that they are made of almost a thick duck tape, and are sticky on the back side. So you can just peel up your choice, position it on your paper, and then use a finger dauber to ink it! I bought this set because of these leaves, and this challenge got me to try them out. I used peeled paint alternating with shabby shutters distress inks, and moved the strip diagonally across the panel, flipping it with each color change. My sentiment is a combo of Simon's small hello die, and Kelly Purkey's alphabet stickers.
We have yet to see any new green, but I'm hoping that any day now I will! Thanks for visiting today!
Fabulous card using that stencil strip, Lin! Love the shades of green. I haven't even looked for new shoots yet (too cold).
ReplyDeleteThat's so pretty with the shades of green leaves. We have some green springing up here and there, but it's still cold and although there was a slight chance of snow in the forecast, all we got is rain. Spring needs to hurry up!
ReplyDeleteI see green here in MD but its being covered with snowflakes as I write. Yikes! I love the soft greens and the diagonal on your card. Have a great birthday!
ReplyDeleteLovely greens! Keeping my fingers crossed for you that you will see it soon!
ReplyDeleteVery cool effect with this stencil, Lin! I love that you used 2 shades of green and your sentiment is fabulous! I'm going to check into these stencils...looks like fun!
ReplyDeleteCould you please tell me what company the leaf stencil was from?
ReplyDeleteAlso the craft store since I live in the Akron area? Thanks, love your stencilled cards!
