supplies: Technique Tuesday Two-Steppin' stamps, charcoal, mint julep, and soft canteloupe inks, Hero Arts sentiment, peach pearls (Doodlebug tangerine). I smooshed the melon and mint inks on an acrylic block and spritzed with water, then picked up the color with a fine brush and flicked it on the card to finish.
The above is what I think of when you tell me melon, but the example given was a bit more watermelon colored, so here's one to cover that:
This is a CASE of this card from Pinterest. I'm sorry to say that it doesn't link back to anything - if it's yours, please let me know so I can give you credit!
supplies: My Mind's Eye washi set, Simon's Chrissy butterfly die, Nesties scalloped rectangles, The Craft's Meow Fly Free sentiment, Hero's pale tomato ink, mint and red pearls
Hope the weather is better where you are! Have a good weekend!
Hehe your post made me smile Lin! Yes what's a girl to do but to make card when the white stuff is falling AGAIN!? Both cards really cute!!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous cards Lin, hope the sun shines for you this weekend!
ReplyDeleteOh my - snow AGAIN :( We are having a gorgeous day here in South Georgia but expecting rain again next week - that is what we have had way too much of down here. Hang in there - 'This Too Shall Pass!
ReplyDeleteLOVING your cards! Blessings to you :)
Hi, Lin! Hasn't today been the strangest day? Snow this morning (with a 14 car pileup on I-71 and now it's 50 degrees outside. Amazing!
ReplyDeleteEither way, your melon cards are gorgeous. I love the two step flowers on the first card and the pale tomato ink is one of my favorites.
Get ready for more cold weather come Sunday!!
No more snow!!! We are supposed to get a big storm in Tuesday. :(. Lovely cards!!!
ReplyDeleteThat's the perfect thing to do on a snowy day. I love both of these, especially the one with the butterfly. The butterfly cutout and the combination of those washi tapes is gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteDarling cards, Lin! Just love the butterfly one!! Sorry you had more snow - we had about two inches on Wednesday morning but it's melted now (too bad the other tons of snow aren't gone!). Your happy cards brought in the spring - thanks!!
ReplyDeleteWe had that snow a couple days ago - ICK! Just plain ICK! And now it has gotten so cold again - high on Saturday is only 20 degrees! I guess we have to hang in there together, waiting for spring!
ReplyDeleteI love both cards, Lin! Your stamping on the first is wonderful and the washi tape looks so pretty with the butterfly on your second! ♥
Love them both, no contest between them since they are both so different and fabulous.

I just love your butterfly card using the negative of the die on top of the washi tape. What part of NE Ohio do you live? I live in the Akron area and we got the same snow yesterday as well!! Then the sun came out!!
ReplyDeleteTwo very beautiful cards, Lin!
ReplyDeleteSorry about the snow - surely spring cannot be far away, fingers crossed!
We woke up to the same thing Lin:( :(. Soooooo sick of it!! Love the one layer! But adore the colors and layout of the second one!!!
ReplyDeleteHi Lin
ReplyDeleteFabulous cards.....
Hugs Sylvie xxx
I'm so sorry you have to deal with more snow...life is not fair!
ReplyDeleteLove your cards, though! Melon and mint is so yummy together and I love your design! And...I also love how you played with your Washi tape on your 2nd card, Lin! You always do such amazing things with Washi (something is wrong with me when it comes to that), and I love your butterfly! Two gorgeous cards!!!
Snow days must make good for card making Lin... today's cards are lovely.
ReplyDeleteLovely cards as ever Lin - I'd defiintely think of the colours in your first card when thinking of melon too ;) But both are winners... the washi butterfly idea is a great CASE... I can see it being easy to do with lots of different washi combos! Rx
ReplyDeleteA very nice card ... That is why I lifted here https://createdbyemmanuelle.wordpress.com/2014/11/04/la-tete-dans-les-nuages-2-ou-comment-faire-une-carte-recup/
