Blossom with Love

We are being snowbirds just now, which is a wonderful thing.  However it means that most of my crafting supplies are back at home.  Each year I agonize about what to bring and what to leave at home.  This year I decided to bring just my very favorite stamps and dies, plus the basics (white cardstock, a small selection of design papers, most of my inks, and markers).  So far I've been doing pretty well, but I was sorry I hadn't brought more stamps when I saw the new challenge at the SIMPLICITY challenge blog.  Since it's sponsored by Penny Black, of course we're expected to use Penny Black products.  I brought a grand total of 4 Penny Black stamp sets with me.  Here's what I came up with for my first entry:

This is probably my favorite PB flower.  It's from their Petal Party set.  I've used it a zillion times, but I don't think I ever colored it pink.  So that's how this card started.  And since the SIMPLICITY blog is all about CAS cards, I also decided to add just a sentiment and maybe some sequins.  This sentiment is also from a favorite set called Every Happiness.  It's pretty tiny, so I white embossed it on a strip of black cardstock, hoping that it would stand out better.

I do love how this turned out - this flower looks good in any color, colored or paper-pieced.  So glad I brought it along!
