I was a bit daunted with this set at first, so for my first outing, I went with a general CASEing of Dawn's design.
I used lots of different inks from different companies here. One of the reasons I chose this set was because of those little lilac-like sprigs that I inked in Simon's Wisteria ink, and I am NOT disappointed - I know I'll be using that one lots! My sentiment is part of Simon's Christmas Blessings die, and I used Winnie & Walter's Audrey Cutaways to cut my scalloped frame.
After I got my feet wet, I felt a bit more comfortable with the set to do a second card. The stamped panel was masked to make it one layer:
supplies: white and aqua cardstock, Free-Hand Florals, aqua, Wisteria, and green inks, Wplus9's sentiment from Blanket Stitched Blooms, Lawn Fawn Stitched Scalloped Border die, Pretty Pink Posh Enchanted Garden and Share Handmade Kindness sequin mixes
Hope your weekend will be a great one!

These are beautiful, Lin!
ReplyDeleteSooooo springy and fresh! Lilacs are my favorite flowers so these naturally get two thumbs up from me!
ReplyDeleteOh, how beautiful, Lin! Both are gorgeous, and good for you for sticking with it and making this lovely second card! Love this set!! BTW, thanks for the tip of seeing your profile for the blog link. That has always frustrated me about Instagram...problem solved for your cards there!! Hugs, sweet friend!
ReplyDeleteboth of your cards are so pretty (as always)-love the second one especially
ReplyDeleteBoth beautiful cards. Liked the way you arranged the flowers.
ReplyDeleteMine is still in it's plastic. I hope it will come out to play this weekend. Both of your cards are so pretty. Dawn makes it looks so easy and then the stamp is in your hands and it like oh heck! But Lin, you have created two fabulous cards. I love your take on Dawn's, and I have to say your second card is my favorite, it looks like your signature card. Fabulous.
ReplyDeleteThose are gorgeous! I almost bought this set and now I really want it.
ReplyDeleteBoth are so Beautiful Lin! LOVE the blue one:))
ReplyDeleteI liked the sprigs too, the moment I saw them! Lovely cards!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous!
ReplyDeleteLin I am in awe of these, they're BEAUTIFUL!!
ReplyDeleteWOW You nailed the layering and stamping perfectly Lin. A great couple of cards.
ReplyDeleteLovely!
ReplyDeleteI just adore your floral creations, Lin (including these 2 gorgeous ones posted today!). You've inspired me - umm, I mean you've "enabled" me LOL - to add some lovely floral stamp sets to my stash and this one will be no exception.
ReplyDeleteBoth are very pretty, and I think this set and you will "great friends" :-=)
ReplyDeleteTwo gorgeous florals, Lin - especially love the second one with the stitched scalloped border!
ReplyDeleteI really liked both of your cards and all the ones you make with flowers. They are always so beautiful. I was wondering how you did the masking in the 2nd card/ i have done masking before but just not with flowers before. Thanks for any help you can give me.
ReplyDeleteRosemary, I use post-it notes for my masking. Briefly, I stamped the outline of the large and smaller flowers, 1 large, and 1 smaller, on a post-it note and cut them out by hand exactly on the stamped outer lines. After stamping my first big one on my panel, I covered it with my mask, and then stamped a small flower to the right and one to the left. I left the mask intact, added a mask over one of the smaller flowers, and stamped the leaves and small sprigs around it. Then I removed the small mask, moved it to the other side, and repeated the process. Hope that helps?
DeleteGorgeous! This set intimidates me too. I need to figure out the best ink colors to use. You did a great job.
ReplyDeleteThese are marvellous cards Lin - love how you have used the stamps and the colours! I can see many more cards using this set, now you have started.
ReplyDeleteBlessings
Maxine
I love your florals, but I think my favorite is the blue one ! The combination of aqua, Wisteria, and green inks make it so gorgeous ! Thanks for sharing.
