Spellbinders Club Kits for March

I'm excited to share my cards made with the March Kits of the Month from Spellbinders!  They all will be available tomorrow, March 6.

The new Large Die of the Month is called Flowering Tree and Collapsible Card Base.  It is darling!

supplies: white, kraft, aqua, and 3 green cardstock,
Flowering Tree & Collapsible Card Base, Magenta Tri-Blend marker to color flowers and sentiments, tiny pearls

This makes a card that will collapse flat for mailing.  There is also an add-on die set with more sentiments: Flowering Tree Sentiments!  You'll see some of them used below on my card featuring the Embossing Folder of the Month.

Here's a closer look to see the detailing on the flowers and leaves.

Here is the Small Die of the Month: Floral Butterfly Card Front

supplies: white, Surf Blue, Audrey Blue, and Green Apple cardstock, pale blue vellum, March Small Die of the Month Floral Butterfly, aqua enamel dots

This is a 11-piece set.  I cut the butterfly body from pale blue vellum, added the florals and his body, and bent him upwards a bit for dimension before fastening him to the lacey floral background.  Those butterflies are so pretty, they could stand alone on a card, I think!

Next I went with that idea and combined the new 3D Embossing Folder of the month with parts of the large and small dies of the month.

supplies: white, pale yellow, black, green, and burnt orange cardstock, March 3D Embossing Folder of the Month Tiled Motif, Floral Butterfly die set, Flowering Tree die set, Sentimental Greetings stamped sentiment, white ribbon

The back of the card base from the first card you saw above makes a perfect tag, so I cut it out of yellow, stamped my sentiment, and then embossed it with the new folder.  Then I made some more butterflies with warm tones of flowers and added them, along with a ribbon at the top.

The Embossing Folder of the Month is called Stylized Calla Lily.

supplies: white, light grey and Cotton Candy cardstock, Stylized Calla Lily embossing folder, white pigment ink, Flowering Tree Sentiments dies

I trimmed a panel of pink card and embossed it, then gently rubbed it with white pigment ink.  Then I fastened it to the bottom of my card base, adding my sentiments, along with a strip of grey.

The Stitching Dies of the Month are fun - remind me of a quilt!  They're called Nested Layered Stitched Petal.

supplies: Surf Blue, Audrey Blue, Doll Pink and a paler pink cardstock, March Stitching Die of the Month: Nested Layered Stitched Petal, pink floss, 3 strands, pink enamel dots, sentiment from Log Cabin and Flower Mini Quilts dies

This set consists of a cover plate, plus a smaller plate with stitching marks to guide you, and another plate that cuts out the long oval pieces, which are then stitched around the starburst areas.  Fun, love the dimension!

And finally, my final card uses the Glimmer of the Month dies and Cobalt Blue foil.  This design reminded me of Delft pottery from Holland, so I colored the flowers to reflect that idea.

supplies: white and medium blue cardstock, So Kind of You Glimmer Foil kit, Cobalt Blue glimmer foil, blue markers

The Cobalt Blue glimmer foil is beautiful and foils very well, too!  Here it looks navy, but turned to the light, it's a gorgeous medium sky blue!

You can look HERE for information on Spellbinders Clubs.  Each is available only from the 6th until the 27th of each month.  If you click on my links under each card, you can see the details of each product.  You can subscribe to the kits separately, but there are also lots of ways to combine several of them.  And you can "unjoin" a subscription at any time without any penalty.

  2. You've been busy, Lin - love how you used each set so differently in your designs! My fave is the "just because" butterfly card - love the aqua/white combo and your vellum butterflies! Thanks for the inspiration - I'm looking forward to that kit arriving!
