Quilt Prints

I had a free day to myself yesterday, so I played with this wonderful Wplus9 Quilt Prints stamp set.   Using my Hero Arts mid-tone inks, I first stamped the "stitched" outline in Charcoal, then filled in the "fabrics" with Green Hills, Butter Bar, and Bubble Gum.  After trimming my panel to fit my card base, I ran it through a Cuttlebug Houndstooth embossing folder to give it that dimpled look that real quilts have after being washed many times.

Then using some rose cardstock and BoBunny Passion Fruit dotted papers, I die-cut 2 each of the 3 sizes of  PTI's Beautiful Blooms II flowers, securing them with a little yellow Basic Grey brad.  My leaf dies are from Wplus9's Folk Art Florals die set, and the sentiment comes from an old clear set, an Archiver's/Hero Arts exclusive.

Love this new quilt set - I hope that Wplus9 continues to offer us more in the same style!

  1. What a great card Lin. First looking at it, I thought you had fussy cut PP to fill in the stitching... but what a great set that allows you to fill in the pieces. Very impressive.

  3. Love that quilt stamping and embossing - its so realistic isn't it. I'm loving Wplus9 at the moment. There was a stockist in the UK but they seem to have stopped getting the new releases now. And I just love your banner photo Lin - gorgeous!

  7. So cozy and wonderful, Lin! This is a very special card - such lovely colors and details. And, I haven't used a brad in years (need to dust them off and use them or get rid of them). This all comes together so beautifully with your lovely flower and that perfect sentiment. Makes me want to crawl back in bed with a good book! A five-star winner, here!

  8. I saw this on Flickr and fell in love with it :) This is beautiful - think I am going to have to get this stamp and see what I can do with it - looks extremely tedious but you have made it sound very simple. AND as I said on Flickr - it is SO YOU!

    Have a blessed day.

  9. What a delightful card, Lin! Wonderful choice of "quilt" colors, too. (I saw a card of yours sometime ago that featured a beautiful dotted red flower...and now I realize it was the PTI die set. Some day, I will have to buy that.)
