Simon Says ............. Anything Goes!

wed-newchallenge-header

Happy Wednesday!  Welcome to another challenge at the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge Blog!

As always at the end of each month, our theme is Anything Goes, and this time we are showcasing Art Impressions products!  I'm a big fan of their Window to the World stamps, and I added a new one to my collection for this challenge.  At the end of January I think we all need a taste of spring!

supplies: Simon Cotton Candy and white card stock, Art Impressions Oh Sing cling stamp, colored with Zig markers and water, Simon's Stitched Rectangle die

This stamp hits all my buttons - birds and flowers and a reference to music!  Here is the sentiment:

Oh sing unto the Lord a new song, for he has done marvelous things!  Psalm 98:1

Now it's your turn!  Heidi has provided another $50.00 gift voucher

All the pretty blues.....

I've been collecting paint chips again and found some of my favorite country blues this time.  So here's another Rose Flurries card, this time using all of the flowers in the set.

supplies: white card stock base, soft script design paper, Altenew Rose Flurries dies, paint chips, Tammy Tutterow Sentiments 2, Zig Dull Blue to fill in letters

As always, thanks for visiting me today!

Sending Hugs

Last year I was a winner through Instagram for some Amuse goodies, and I'm finally getting around to making a card with this pretty Southern Bouquet cling.

supplies: watercolor paper, white card stock, Amuse Southern Bouquet, Zig markers and water, distress inks, Simon's Sending die, Winnie & Walter "hugs" from Big Bold Friends set, Doodlebug heart sprinkles

I chose soft spring colors to color the flowers, using Zig markers and water, then cut out the bouquet.  On a separate piece of watercolor paper, I tried to mimic the same colors using distress inks, and sponged them lightly around the design.  Then I added a stamped and die-cut sentiment and some little hearts.

Thank you for stopping by - enjoy your weekend!

Simon's New Love release!

Here's a card I made using the brand spanking new Cosmos Background cling being released today at Simon Says Stamp in their new Love release!

supplies: white and black cardstock, Cosmos cling stamp, colored with Zig brush markers (yellow, fluorescent pink, pink, dark pink, pale green, and May green), Stitched Rectangle dies, MFT Beautiful Blooms sentiment (retired), stamped in VersaMark and embossed in white

I stamped and colored the image, then cut it into 3 rectangles using my Stitched Rectangle dies, framed up the smaller 2 in white, and glued everything back together again before affixing my sentiment.  Easy peasy!

You can see the whole release HERE.  What's your must-have?

Simon Says.......Layer It Up!

wed-newchallenge-header

Happy Wednesday!  Welcome to another challenge at the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge Blog!

Our challenge this time is to "Layer It Up!", and my teamies and I are playing with Concord & 9th goodies!  I used this as an excuse to get myself their Plaid Background stamp set and made 2 cards in my happy colors.  Both my cards have layered stamping and layered die-cutting.

supplies:  white, green, Simon's Surf Blue, Audrey Blue, and Green Apple card stock, Plaid Background clear stamp set, Hero Arts Grass and Simon's Audrey Blue inks, Altenew Fantasy Florals dies, Simon's Small Hello die, Memory Pox Pinpoint Rectangle die, Winnie & Walter Noelle Cutaway, adhesive foam squares

I started with a panel of surf blue cardstock and stamped my plaid pattern on that with green and blue inks.   I love the richness that starting with a colored card stock gives!

The next plaid started with white cardstock, and I layered another beautiful Concord & 9th die set over the stamped panel.

supplies: white and Audrey Blue card stock, Plaid Background stamp set, Audrey Blue and Green Apple inks, Layers of Love dies, Simon's (retired) Just a Love Note sentiment, blue pearl, adhesive foam squares

Now it's your turn!  Heidi has provided another $50.00 gift voucher

Just a Note

Another play today with my new Altenew Rose Flurries dies......had to make my favorite yellow roses!

supplies: kraft card stock, papers from (retired) Doodlebug Rainbow Assortment card stock, unknown script dp, Altenew Rose Flurries dies, (retired) Avery Elle Simply Said Hello sentiment, gold pearls, vintage photo distress ink to edge script panel

I like the vintage feel that the script background adds to my bouquet.  Sorry that so many of my supplies have been discontinued, but really, these gorgeous flowers will shine on almost anything!

Hope your week is off to a great start!

Roses and Forget-me-Nots

As soon as I saw the new Altenew Rose Flurries dies, I jumped - it has everything you need to make beautiful bouquets!  Here's my first card with them.

supplies: Cotton Candy and Desert Storm card stock, (retired) Doodlebug Rainbow cardstock assortment for flowers and leaves, Altenew Rose Flurries dies and Painted Greetings sentiment, Impression Obsession Wooden Plank, VersaFine Onyx Black and Vintage Sepia inks, Simon's Stitched Rectangle die

The flowers are 4 layers deep, which gives them a natural dimension off the card.  And they're all easy to assemble - what a great set of dies!   The only down-side is that now we need to find card stock that comes in 4 shades of each color........

Hope you're having a great weekend!   Sorry I've been missing in action this month - hopefully I'll be getting back to speed soon.  Thanks for stopping by.

Simon Says..........Add a Sentiment

wed-newchallenge-header

Happy Wednesday!  Welcome to another challenge at the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge Blog!

This week we want you to add a sentiment!  The team and I are showcasing Clearly Besotted products!

These flowers reminded me of apple blossoms, so they were colored accordingly.

supplies: white card stock, Bristol paper, Clearly Besotted Beautiful Friend II clear stamps, Zig markers and water, MFT Stitched Mini Scallop Rectangle die, sticky back foam

Who can resist daisies in a canning jar?  I stamped them on kraft paper and colored them with pencils.

supplies: white, black, and kraft card stock, Doodlebug green gingham dp, Clearly Besotted Delightful Day daisies, jar, and sentiment, Simon's Stitched Rectangle die, (retired) MFT Blueprints 20 banner die, green swiss dot ribbon

Birthday Butterflies

Here are 2 cards for some birthday girls this month.........both using butterflies and a variation on the same sketch.

supplies: white and black card stock, Doodlebug pink and purple dot petite print, Calais Butterflies, sentiment from Brush Stroke Messages, tiny heart die, Audrey Cutaway  scalloped die, adhesive foam squares

I inlaid the butterflies into the scalloped panel, then lined them with purples and pinks, scattering a few little die-cut hearts.

For my 2nd card, I changed up the butterflies, stamped ones this time, but the other supplies are the same.

supplies: white, black, and Audrey Blue card stock,  (retired) Hero Arts Stamp & Cut Antique Flowers and Butterflies, colored with Chameleon Cool Tones markers (BV4 Blue Violet) and Blue Tones Color Tops (BG3 Turquoise), Simon's Brush Stroke Messages, Audrey Cutaway scalloped die, adhesive foam squares to lift butterflies

I finally got myself some Chameleon color tops to add to the set of markers I already have, and had a little play with blending.  They are fun!

My cards for the next couple of months are going to be simpler than usual, as we are in Florida, and I left lots of supplies at home.  Hope you'll bear with me.......

Simon Says..........Use Patterned Paper

wed-newchallenge-header

Happy Wednesday!  Welcome to another challenge at the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge Blog!

Our challenge this week is to use patterned paper, and what better company to highlight than Doodlebug?!  Their 6" paper pads are perfectly sized for cards.  I have 2 for you today, with some bright colors to lift our winter doldrums!

supplies: white and Doll Pink card stock, various Doodlebug 6" paper pads, Simon's Summer Flowers and Love and Friendship clear stamp sets, retired MFT Blueprints 20 die (banner) and Winnie & Walter Audrey's cutaways (xo die), adhesive foam squares

I used a strip quilt design for my background, edged it with x's and o's lined in pink, and then just added a flower and sentiment banner.

Next up, a super simple design that you can do in 10 minutes or less.

supplies: white cardstock, a Doodlebug floral and a pink gingham from Gingham/Linen Rainbow Petite Prints paper pad, Simon's Smile Circle die, Pretty Pink Posh Scallop Border die

If you visit here often, you'll remember that I love all things gingham, and mixing a gingham with a floral like this makes me smile big!  This Gingham paper pad is a must-have - it has 24 different ginghams, ranging from pinks through greys and black, and everything in between, and the reverse is a solid linen look.

This would be a good design for a quick set of cards.....just change the colors of gingham for each one!

The scalloped die cuts a scallop edge, with an inner stitch line - I just hand-cut along that line and then separated the 2 pieces a bit when I attached them to my floral base.

Simon Says..........Something New

wed-newchallenge-header

Happy Wednesday!  Welcome to another challenge at the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge Blog!

Welcome to the first challenge of the New Year!  Our theme is Something New, and we're showcasing Hero Arts products.  I'm celebrating all the wonderful things about winter with some new (to me) Hero Arts stamps.

supplies: white, dark green, and Simon Surf Blue card stock, Hero Arts Winter Silhouettes clear stamp set, VersaFine onyx black ink, tumbled glass, pine needles, and evergreen bough distress inks, ink blending tool, Simon's Falling Snow stencil, Nuvo Moonstone glimmer paste

This Winter Silhouette stamp set has lots of images of children playing in the snow - I chose only 3 of them, plus one of the trees in the set and made myself a little skating rink in the woods.

There's nothing more lovely than those big fluffy snowflakes that fall during the winter and that's where this next card came from.  I wanted to capture the feeling of peace I feel when we have a beautiful snowfall that makes the world all bright and fresh again.  And since it's the New Year, I thought that this lovely Hope sentiment was a perfect pairing....it's new, too!

supplies: white and silver glitter card stock,  Hero Arts Hand Drawn Snowflakes Bold Prints cling, VersaMark and white embossing powder, salty ocean and blueprint sketch distress inks, ink blending tool, Simon Hope diesYour Next Stamp silver glitter gumdrops

Now it's your turn.  As always, we have another $50.00 gift voucher

Simon's January Card Kit

Happy New Year!  I'm thrilled to be moving into the new year with my favorite kind of card - for Valentine's Day!

My card uses a few of the supplies in the latest Card Kit.  I LOVED this particular floral paper from the Pebbles design papers in the kit, and used that as my inspiration.  I paired it with a sentiment and the tiny hearts in the new stamp set, along with my own stamped roses with die-cut leaves, to mimic the roses in the paper.

supplies: Cotton Candy, Doll Pink, Lipstick Red, and Mint cardstock, floral dp from Pebbles Forever My Always paper pad, sentiment and tiny stamped hearts from new Really Like You stamp set, (all in the kit), along with roses from Roses for You and Partial Cut Leaf dies, Stitched Rectangle die

The background is a very dark brown, and I followed suit, using an Espresso distress ink for my stamping.

Here's what this January Card Kit looks like, and as of this writing it's still available!  Be sure to check out our Gallery for more ideas!
