supplies: white, cream, and medium blue cardstock, Simon's Plank Background cling stamp, Nuvo alcohol markers to color, Winnie & Walter Happy cutaway and (retired) Hero Arts Essential Messages birthday sentiment, wood veneer bird
After it was done, I felt it needed something, so I added these strips of washi tape.
Now I'm not sure - did I go too far with the addition? I'd love to hear what you think. Thankfully the washi is peelable, and I can remove it if I decide against it.
Thanks for stopping by.

it was really difficult to decide which i liked better, Lin - but after i had a think about it - try taking the washi off from above the bird - i think that would draw the eye to the bird and sentiment and be less "busy" - so for what it's worth dept!! love the colors you used, the little bird is darling and it's a great guy card.
I like the addition of the tape...some fun and whimsy.
I like both. Hard to decide which I like more. I like the washi tape addition as it provides a form of highlighting for me. I see the bird w/happy bday captured But it's a close one.
Cool background.
Both look great. The washi certainly adds a pop.
Both so cool, but I much prefer the second one. The washi tape brings my attention to the cute birdie and the sentiment, and it just give a little extra coziness to the card!
I like the addition of the washi tape. I think it helps draw the eye to the sentiment.
This is s great guy card! I like the way you camouflaged the sentiment!
An awesome masculine make Lin - and I like the washi tape, it seems to ground the bird and sentiment a bit on this fairly busy background
Blessings
