August Hero Studio - Ichabod's Study!

The Hero Studio kits for August have been released - Ichabod's Study is the theme, all about Halloween!

My first card mixes elements from the Card Kit, Ichabod's Study, with the Layering Stencils, Sunnyside Manor, for this month.

The stamps include a male and a female image with lots of layers, plus some pumpkins, this spiderweb and bat, 6 sentiments, plus lots I haven't used.  Then there are 2 die sets included, 1 to cut out the sentiments, both figures, and some of the elements, and another which has 3 frames to be layered or used alone, 3 sizes of little butterflies, and these glasses.  There's also a stamping guide included to help stamp the portraits, and some rainbow film, acetate, and a light to make the portrait appear and disappear in the frame! (not used here)  Michelle showed off this idea beautifully in her post HERE.

The layering stencils are 4 parts, so I used my go-to Halloween colors to make the wallpaper.

My final card today shows you the Fancy Dies kit, Haunted Gallery, and the female portrait from the Card Kit.

July Hero Studio - Road Trip!

 The Hero Arts Studio goodies for July have been released, and I have 3 cards to share with you today.  The collection is called Road Trip.

The Card Kit this month includes a stamp set with layering landscape images and sentiments, and dies to match, plus 2 separate die sets that follow the Road Trip theme.  One makes the car dashboard and mirror, and the other adds details like the arms and legs, shoes, and coffee cup, plus more that I didn't use (fuzzy dice, sunglasses, and a pine-scent to hang).

Hero Arts Studio Release for June - Coastal Vibes

 I am so pleased to share with you some cards I've made using some of the new June Hero Studio release!  The collection is called Coastal Vibes, and it's a great mix of goodies you'll use for summer cards!

First up today are the Layering Stencils, Hydrangea.  These are so easy to use and with such great results that I made 2 cards.

The stencil set is 4 parts, 2 for the flowers, and 2 for the leaves.  

I've always wanted a blue hydrangea bush, but haven't been able to sustain one - ours look more like my 2nd card below, various shades of pinks and blues.

For my sentiment on this one, I used one of the large block stamps and its matching die from The Whole Studio bonus item for this month: HiYa Friend.  I clear stamped it onto vellum, white embossed it, then cut it out with the die and glued it right to my card base.

Oh both cards, after finishing my stenciling, I put the first floral stencil back over my panel and ran it through my machine with an embossing pad and plate.  That gives a subtle dimension to these simple designs. 

Now here are some cards made with the Card Kit for June.  First I played with the Beach Bag Fancy Dies set in the kit, called Beach Bag.

Here I used stand-alone fancy dies in the kit; besides what you see here, there are also a loaf of bread, 2 wine glasses, a tassel, a bow, a whale, a crab, a seashell - 20 pieces in all!  It was really fun to make this straw tote, and then fill it with fun goodies!  The sentiment comes from the stamp set/matching dies in the set, more of which you'll see below.

Next are 2 cards using the Summer State of Mind stamp/die set from the kit.

I really did try to color these, but did not like my results, so I stamped over colored cardstocks and printed papers instead, paper-piecing a few of them.  Then I chose just a few of the stamps to construct my little beach scene.  The set also includes 6 other sentiments.  And there are dies for everything!

Here's another using the largest stamp and die. This time I used markers to color, and popped some flowers in the basket.

And finally, I went back to the Whole Studio Bonus item for an easy simple design.  I started with an interesting printed paper, stamped "friend" in the center of a trimmed panel, cut it out with a rectangle die, matted it, then popped it back onto the card front, along with one of the smaller sentiments from the same stamp set.

Some Hero Studio Monthly Mini Cards for May!

 I was so tickled to be asked to help showcase this month's Hero Studio products!  They have a floral theme going on, so of course I said YES!  The collection is called Flower Shoppe.

My first card was really fun to put together, using May's Studio Fancy Dies, Village Florist!

These dies are a set of 32 - everything you need to make your own little shop!  It went together very easily.  I couldn't resist naming mine "Lin's", using a tiny alphabet set that you will see in a few days.  I would love to work in such a shop, being surrounded with all those colors and scents every day!

My next card today features the May Cling Stamp, Floral Tiles.

I made a tone-on-tone design with happy yellows, then just added a large sentiment die and some of the flowers from the Dies of the Month that you'll see more of below.  

Next up is the Stamp and Cut Studio Set, Flowers Bloom.

This set consists of 15 stamps, 4 of which are sentiments, and 11 dies to cut out the flowers.  After coloring the flowers with markers, I arranged them across my card, used some Press n' Seal to hold them together until I could secure them on the back, then added a thin black strip to separate the sentiment, and sprinkled some enamel dots.  

And here is my last card that uses the Layering Stencils, Boho Bouquet.

We had a little hiccup with this set, as I only received 3 of the 4 stencils, missing the one that puts down the solid parts of the leaves.  I decided to try it anyway, and I don't think it looks too bad!  The stencils will make a nice big 5 X 7 card, but I used an A2 size cardbase.  After doing my stencilling, I put the detail flower stencil back on and ran it through my machine with an embossing mat and plate.  And I used a white distress crayon for the centers of my flowers; that worked better than any white ink I had here on hand.
