Plum, Gold, and Tan

.......those are the colors for us at the CR84FN challenge these next couple of weeks.  I liked the idea of pairing plum with gold...... and since purple is a royal color, fit for the King, I decided to make a Christmas card.   Here is what I came up with:

supplies: plum and tan cardstock, Hero Arts CG405 Leaf & Floral Background, CG291 Three Dotted Flowers, VersaMark ink and Ranger super fine detail gold embossing powder, CL559 Greatest Gift, dusty concord embosing powder, clear embossing powder, white pearls heated in gold embossing powder, Die-Namics large scallop die, gold button

I used 2 of my favorite non-holiday stamps for this card, then added a Christmas sentiment.  It seemed too small for the space, so I wanted gold pearls below it.  I dipped white ones into a VersaMark pad, then into the gold embossing powder and heated......worked pretty well!

Congratulations to the new ladies on the Design Team at CR84FN - you join an elite group!  Looking forward to seeing your work!

Denim, tan, and brown

I'll never pass up the opportunity to make a blue card, so when I saw these colors at CR84FN, I was all over it!  I just received this Penny Black set of stamps called Petal Party - I got them because of all the flowers.  Here's my card:

supplies: blue, tan, and brown cardstock, unknown denim design papers, Penny Black Petal Party, Hero Arts CL491 Made with Love, Palette Burnt Umber ink, Wplus9 Folk Art Florals leaf dies, BoBunny Snowfall Brads, Nesties Labels 18 die

I'm also entering this into Moxie Fab World's Card Design Handbook: Gallon, Quart, Pint Challenge, as I think it's a good example of that design element.

Coral, brown, and tan

Beautiful colors this week at CR84FN!  Coral is one of my favorite colors to wear, but I almost always pair it up with white - after playing with the browns and tans, I just may add them to my wardrobe, also.  Here's my card, using a previously stamped panel, done in tans and browns with a tiny bit of green.   The Doily was stamped and heat embossed, then the other elements were stamped over and around it to make my panel.   I just had to make the flower and the sentiment, and I was finished!

Just me.....

Here are the colors for the challenge at CR84FN:

I used a new Hero Arts stamp set called Pattern Hearts & Flowers, and was heavily influenced by Tami and Lisa, coloring the flowers with distress inks mixed with water.  I colored my seam binding the same way.  (note to self: use a lighter hand with the worn lipstick distress ink next time - this is looking neon here :))

Chartreuse, gray, and lavender

Gray and lavender.........colors that I've shied away from for many years.......these were our colors for our (local) sorority at Grove City College back in the 70's, Theta Alpha Pi, and I wore them at least once a week for 3 1/2 years.   They were hard colors to wear for most of us, and thankfully at some point after I graduated, they changed the colors to burgundy and silver.   But I digress.......

The new challenge at CR84FN includes these colors plus chartreuse........here's the photo inspiration, really lovely, isn't it?

Here's my take on it:

supplies: grey cardstock, My Mind's Eye "Penny Lane" lavender and green  design papers from Hobby Lobby, Die-Namics rolled rose die, Sizzix Branch with Leaves die, Cutlebug Birds and Swirls embossing folder, Hero Arts AR127 Script Messages, pearls colored with purple marker

Kindred Spirits

Here's a card that will fit 3 challenges, using a brand new stamp set from Flourishes that I won over at Stacy's blog recently - I adore this sweet silhouette and the sentiment is my favorite of all of them in the set - those 2 words make me remember Anne of Green Gables, one of my favorite books.  I don't believe I read it until I was a young adult, and it still holds a special place in my heart.  I'm sure lots of you feel the same way about it!

supplies: cream parchment card base, design papers from October Afternoon, Flourishes "Sweet Days of Summer", versamark ink and white embossing powder, stamped on a piece of polished stone paper, VersaFine Deep Lagoon ink, PTI Beautiful Blooms II #1 dies, Making Memories Velvet brad, seam binding dyed with broken china distress ink

Here are the photo inspirations from CR84FN and the Shabby Tea Room. My birthstone is the aquamarine.

And at a new (to me) challenge blog called Fashionable Stamping Challenges, we are to use ribbon or lace.  Hand-dyed seam binding is what I used on this card.
