Spring Hugs

Here's a card using the Petal Pusher stand-alone floral dies from the Greetery,  paired with a heart splatter stamp and a die-cut sentiment.

supplies: white, Green Apple, purple, dark aqua, and black cardstock, The Greetery Petal Pusher Blooms dies, unknown Hugs die, Your Next Stamp Mini Heart Ink Splatter, Altenew Ocean Waves and Hydrangea inks, (retired) Winnie & Walter Noelle Scalloped Rectangle die, adhesive foam squares

I like this combination of aqua and purple with a bright green.  And it was fun to pull out the heart splatter stamp and the Scalloped Rectangle die to give them some love!

Once again, thanks so much for coming by today.

Simon Says......Fun with Washi!

Welcome to the new challenge at the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge blog!

This week we want you to use some Washi tape on your creations!  The team is featuring Doodlebug products; you don't have to use this brand to enter, but we'd love to see you using it if you do!

I have a huge collection of washi tapes, so I thoroughly enjoyed this week's challenge!

supplies: white cardstock, unknown gingham and leaves washi tapes, Doodlebug Rocky Doodle Pop stickers, Penny Black Stitched Stacker die, sentiment from Sugar Pea Fall Fox

I simply added 2 strips of fall-themed washi tape to a card panel, along with a die-cut border above and below them, then stamped my sentiment and added this adorable little racoon and leaves.  Doodle Pops are stickers that are layered up for lots of dimension, and Doodlebug has a really fun assortment of them, adding to them each time a new collection is released.  I like to have some in my stash at all times, as they come in handy when you need a fast card!

Here's a 2nd card for this week - I used a washi tape from one of Doodlebug's latest collections, along with papers from the same collection..

supplies: white cardstock, Doodlebug My Happy Place 6" paper pad, Flower Garden washi tape, from the same collection, Pretty Pink Posh Spring Foliage dies. Simon Joys of Spring sentiment, Your Next Stamp Mini Flower Splatter clear stamp, pink ink

The washi is the floral strip - everything else is from the coordinating paper pad.

Now it's your turn!  We have a $25.00 gift certificate

Holiday Botanical Background

Today I have a bunch of Christmas cards all made from the same set of stencils.  I like this Holiday Botanical Background set because it gives the effect of a wreath, only in rectangle form, with the center left open for whatever you choose to add to it.

Here's my favorite color combination first.

supplies: white and Schoolhouse Red card, Pink Fresh Studio Holiday Botanical Background stencil set, twisted citron, mowed lawn, rustic wilderness, and festive berries distress inks, Simon blender brushes, Your Next Stamp Merry & Bright die and matching sentiment

Here's more cards using these stencils and adding lots of my own sentiments from Hero Arts and Simon Says Stamp.  I mixed up teals, greens, pinks, and reds.

These lie flat, so they're easy to mail.  You could go a step further and add some sequins or gems or pearls for the berries, or make the sentiment smaller and use a snowman or a bird or ?????  You could do some fussy-cutting like I did on the outside edges of the top left card here; the sky's the limit!

This stencil set is 4 steps, and is easy to line-up.  I stencilled these 6 cards in 1 block of time, then added my sentiments and finished them into cards in another block.

Hope I've inspired you to give these a try!

Simon Says.....Create a Scene

It's Wednesday - welcome to our challenge at the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge Blog!

This week we'd like you to "Create a Scene"!  The team is showcasing Lavinia Stamps this week, and I had such fun that I made 2 cards.

I envisioned this Faith Fairy in a garden, of course, so I chose some pretty floral colors to simulate that. Since she is a solid image, I decided to make my own oxide background and put everything in silhouette.

supplies: watercolor and black cardstock, kitsch flamingo, wilted violet, and squeezed lemonade distress oxide inks and water, Lavinia Stamps Faith fairy stamp, Your Next Stamp Mini Flower Splatter stamp, and sentiment from Impression Obsession In a Garden, MFT Wonky Stitched Rectangle die, flower sequins, glue pen and prisma glitter

I added some glitter to her wings for some sparkle.

Next I went with an evening mood.

supplies: watercolor and black cardstock, salty ocean, mermaid lagoon, lucky clover, and blueprint sketch oxide inks and water, Lavinia Stamps Faith fairy stamp, Impression Obsession Full Bloom Hollyhocks, Tim Holtz Small Talk sentiment sticker, clear irridescent sequins

Isn't this Faith Fairy lovely?   As above, I added some irridescent clear sequins to the centers of the hollyhocks.

Now it's your turn!  We have a $25.00 gift certificate

A Graduation Card

School colors are blue and white.

supplies: white and blue foil cardstock, Simon Extra Large Congrats die and Graduation sentiment strips, Your Next Stamp Mini Star Splatter clear stamp, (or part of the Mini Ink Splatter set), blue and white star sequins

I couldn't capture the shine of the blue foil cardstock, but, along with the sequins, this card is appropriately festive!

Thanks for stopping by!

Simon Says........Masculine

Happy Wednesday - welcome to our challenge at the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge Blog!

This week our theme is Masculine, and the team is highlighting Your Next Stamp products.  I used one of their mini splatter stamps for my card.

supplies: white and a dark teal cardstock, Your Next Stamp Mini Ink Splatter, distress inks (broken china, lucky clover, evergreen bough, vintage photo, gathered twigs), Tim Holtz Wildflower Stems 1 dies

I love that using these splatter stamps allows me complete control, and no surprises when I want that effect!  They also come in stars, hearts, flowers.......so fun!

It is always hard for me when I have to make a masculine card, but my usual recipe is using blues and greens and to include something leafy or woody.  Plaid usually does it, or something with birds.

Now it's your turn!  We have a $25.00 gift voucher

Simon Says........Party Time!

Happy Wednesday - welcome to our challenge at the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge blog!

Our theme this week (and for 2 weeks until the New Year!) is Party Time, and we are playing with our very own Simon Exclusive products.

With the timing, my mind jumped to a Happy New Year's card - here's what I came up with this week.

supplies: white, black, and gold metallic cardstock, Simon's Stitched Alphabet, Holiday Hellos, Your Next Stamp Mini Star Splatter, Liquid Platinum embossing powder, MFT Wonky Stitched Rectangles die, star sequins, adhesive foam strips

I first stamped my "party" letters, then masked them and overstamped the star confetti, embossing it in liquid platinum.  The letters were colored in in black, the panel was trimmed using a stitching die, and I spaced out Happy, New, and Year over the letters.  For more glitz, I mounted the panel on gold metallic cardstock.  The small words were raised over the letters and I added a couple gold star sequins.

Here's another angle to see more of the gold embossing.

And a closer shot so that you can see the little words.

Now it's your turn!  We have a $50.00 gift certificate

We'll be taking a break from challenges until 2020 arrives - enjoy your holidays and see you back here then!

Happy Wednesday - welcome to our challenge at the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge Blog!

This week, in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness, our theme is Think Pink!  My teammates and I are showcasing Pink & Main products.

Being a 15-year survivor, I have always associated the butterfly as a sign of hope and new beginnings, so I chose this butterfly set.  Here's my card.

supplies: pink and white cardstock, Pink & Main You Can Fly stamps, Altenew Cherry Blossom mini inks and water, Your Next Stamp Mini Heart Ink Splatter stamp, Doodlebug Rainbow Heart sprinkles

Simon Says.........Add a Number

Happy Wednesday - welcome to our challenge at the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge Blog!

wed-newchallenge-header

This week we want you to Add a Number!  The design team are playing with Your Next Stamp products - if you have some we'd love to see you using them, too!  But it's not a requirement to play along.

I love YNS's ink splatter stamps, and I took this as an opportunity to get another.  They come in hearts, flowers, these stars, and other fun motifs.  Our youngest Grand will be turning 7 later this year, so I pulled together some primary colors and made him a birthday card.

supplies: white and Lipstick Red cardstock, YNS Mini Star Ink Splatters clear stamp and their Bold Numbers die, sentiment pieced from Simon's Big Birthday Greetings and Happy clear stamp sets, Altenew mini inks, MFT Wonky Stitched Rectangle die

Now it's your turn!  We have a $50.00 gift certificate

Flower Frenzy!

Two posts in one day!  I recently ordered the Spellbinders Small Dies of the Month - what a good price for all that you get!  Here's the first card I made with them.

supplies: white cardstock, Doodlebug patterned papers, Small Dies of the Month for April, Your Next Stamp Mini Flower Splatter stamp, turquoise ink, Simon's (evidently retired) Happy & Smile sentiment, adhesive foam to separate flower layers

I've used this aqua/blue/purple combination before, but this time I threw in some orange.  The sweet little flower splatters are a nice touch with all the big die-cut flowers, and now I have another birthday card ready for when I need one.  I separated all the flower layers with foam adhesive and curled up the petals for even more dimension; this one will best be hand-delivered!

This uses just 2 of the 3 flowers in the kit, and there are also buds and single leaves, plus a hello sentiment - as I said, very good value!

Sending Hugs

Here's a card that I made for Valentine's Day.

supplies; white and Ripe Raspberry card stock, dps from MFT Dots & Stripes Sorbet and Farm Fresh Gingham paper pads, MFT All Occasion Sentiments, Your Next Stamp Mini Heart Ink Splatter, Ripe Raspberry ink, Simon's Small Heart Doily and (retired) Large Heart Doily dies, adhesive foam squares

I cut the Heart doilies from patterned and solid paper, then pieced the gingham and dots back onto the solid.  I love these little heart splatters - they are just the right size to work with everything!

Happy Wednesday!  Welcome to another challenge at the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge Blog!

wed-newchallenge-header

Our theme this week is Party, and my teamies and I are showcasing Your Next Stamp products.    I stretched the theme a bit with my stamp choice - these are popular stamps, and many of them were out of stock when I ordered.....so let's just say these 2 are having an openhouse/caroling party.....

supplies: white card, dp from Sunny Studio Holiday Cheer pad, YNS Tweet Kindness and sentiment from Merry Everything, Nuvo markers, Simon's Stitched Circle die, MFT Wonky Rectangle die, adhesive foam squares

I stamped, colored, and cut out the adorable image, then popped it and the card front above a snowy background.
