Cross Stitch Rose

I took my own advice from yesterday and looked on the internet until I found a small cross-stitch design.....I printed it out larger and used that printout as a pattern.  This one uses 3 pinks, 2 greens, and a brown, again done on 14-count perforated paper in ecru.

supplies: rose and Green Leaf card, rose x-stitch pattern, ecru perforated paper, embroidery floss, sentiment from Jane's Doodles Mom's Flowers ( retired), Spellbinder's Oval and Circle dies, Simon's Stitched Rectangle die

Again, I have an aching back from leaning over the pattern while I was stitching, so I decided to make this into a Mother's Day card for my 93-year old Mom.  She loved cross-stitching in her younger days, and she'll appreciate the work that went into this.  This little Jane's Doodles sentiment is the perfect size for this card!  I inked the circle along the edges in a green that helps it to stand out a bit better.

I need to get myself some nesting oval dies......can anyone recommend a set?  Having stitching on them would be a plus for me.  And I guess while we're at it, how about a nesting scalloped oval set that will work with the plain oval set?  If I continue with this cross-stitching, a pretty oval frame that can be done in different sizes would set them off nicely.

Lots of Dots

Who can resist pink tulips at this time of year, and when plopped into a pair of pink dotted wellies, I was all in at the Sparkle & Shine challenge!

All of my stamps are discontinued, which makes them all the sweeter!

supplies: Hero Arts Simple Tulips, Jane's Doodles Raindrops, Signo white pen to add dots, The Craft's Meow sentiment from Fly Free, Spectrum Noir markers (pale pink PP3 and green CG2), Doodlebug dotty paper, Impression Obsession rectangular frame die, Darice dots folder, Pretty Pink Posh Springtime Mix sequins

I'm also entering this into the Spectrum Noir May challenge: Flowers, and also Winnie & Walter/Pink Fresh Studio product challenge: Sequins.

Color Throwdown #340

Absolutely gorgeous colors this week at the Color Throwdown!  How could you NOT play?  I still had my Vintage Roses out on my desk, so that's where this card started.

supplies: Simon's Audrey Blue cardstock, Cuttlebug Cross My Heart embossing folder, Altenew's Vintage Roses, MFT Die-Namics oval doily, Jane's Doodles Mom's Flowers sentiment, Hero Arts Splash ink

This went together very quickly, as I wanted to keep the background the same blue as the inspiration.  So I just stamped and fussy-cut my flowers, glued them to my doily, added my sentiment, embossed the card front, and I was done!

Simon Says.........Make It Sparkle!!

wed-newchallenge-header

It's Wednesday and time for a new challenge at the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge blog!

Simon Wednesday Challenge Blog

Our theme this week is to Make it Sparkle!  And the design team are using products from Neat & Tangled or Jane's Doodles.  If you have any of their stamps, we'd love to see you using them, but it's not necessary to enter, as long as you make it sparkle in some way.  I chose some Jane's Doodles stamps and made 2 cards today.

This one uses Jane's Mother's Flowers.  I chose the smaller elements in the set and made a little summer wreath, using Hero Arts inks Green Hills, Bubble Gum, Butter Bar, Orange Soda, and Soft Canteloupe.  For my sparkle, I added some Hero Arts Prisma glitter to the centers of my flowers with a Quickie glue pen.  Here's a closer shot to hopefully show you that detail:

My next card uses Jane's Raindrops set.

I stamped the cute herringbone-pattern cloud in pale grey and sky blue, and for my sparkle, I embossed the raindrops in Ranger silver embossing powder, and also added some pale blue rhinestones.  My sun is a Hero Arts die-cut.

Okay, now it's your turn!  We have a $50.00 gift voucher
