A CAS Card for Christmas

Here's another Christmas card for today.

supplies: white and dark green card, Simon Pine Needle Wreath die, Pink & Main Holly Jolly sentiment, Altenew Crimson ink, Hero Arts Nesting Rectangle dies

I cut the wreath from a panel of white card, then used a rectangle die to size it.  The green was cut from a size up in the nesting set.  After gluing the two together I stamped my sentiment and red berries, then attached it to a white card base.  The group of 3 dots and the single dot stamps were teensy ones from some retired floral stamp sets.  Look through your sets and you'll often find some tiny motifs that can be very handy!

Maybe one of the fastest cards I've made in a long time!

Thanks for stopping by - enjoy your weekend!

Holiday Botanical Background

Today I have a bunch of Christmas cards all made from the same set of stencils.  I like this Holiday Botanical Background set because it gives the effect of a wreath, only in rectangle form, with the center left open for whatever you choose to add to it.

Here's my favorite color combination first.

supplies: white and Schoolhouse Red card, Pink Fresh Studio Holiday Botanical Background stencil set, twisted citron, mowed lawn, rustic wilderness, and festive berries distress inks, Simon blender brushes, Your Next Stamp Merry & Bright die and matching sentiment

Here's more cards using these stencils and adding lots of my own sentiments from Hero Arts and Simon Says Stamp.  I mixed up teals, greens, pinks, and reds.

These lie flat, so they're easy to mail.  You could go a step further and add some sequins or gems or pearls for the berries, or make the sentiment smaller and use a snowman or a bird or ?????  You could do some fussy-cutting like I did on the outside edges of the top left card here; the sky's the limit!

This stencil set is 4 steps, and is easy to line-up.  I stencilled these 6 cards in 1 block of time, then added my sentiments and finished them into cards in another block.

Hope I've inspired you to give these a try!

Garden Roses

I recently treated myself to some layering stencil sets - here are two cards using the Garden Roses set from Pink Fresh Studio.

supplies: white cardstock, Pink Fresh Studio Garden Roses stencil set, Altenew Red Sunset and Green Valley inks, blending brush, Perfect Sentiments and matching die, Simon Says Stamp Detail Ringlet cover plate, heart sprinkles

This is a 5-piece stencil set, 3 for the flowers and 2 for the leaves.  They line up easily and the details are lovely, I think.  I cut my spray out free-hand and put it against a subtle pierced background.

Of course I had to do a yellow version.......there is a natural break in this stencil and I used just 3 of the roses as my focal point for this one.

supplies: white card, Sunny Studio Eyelet Lace Frilly Frame dies, PinkFresh Studio Garden Roses layering stencils, Altenew inks, Simon Says Stamp sentiment from Beautiful Butterflies, adhesive foam to lift floral spray

I love these layering stencil sets, as the results are as close as I'll ever get to no-line coloring!  They are so relaxing to play with!

Simon's December Card Kit!

This month's Card Kit from Simon Says Stamp is a really unique one!  I love that it includes some decoupage pages, and I couldn't wait to try one of them!

supplies: white and Audrey Blue card, a Craft Consortium 3D Decoupage sheet, sentiment and snowflakes from Santa's Helpers clear stamp set, Darice adhesive foam squares

This decoupage sheet includes 5 different layers of this darling scene.  After layering them together with foam squares between, I added some snow with a glue pen and glitter.  Here's a closer look at the wonderful details.

Next, I chose several images from the Santa's Helpers stamp set and one of the included papers for my 2nd card.

supplies: white card, horizontal town scene from Craft Consortium Made by Elves paper pack, elves and sentiment from Santa's Helpers stamp set, glue pen and glitter

I love the colors in this kit: pastels, along with a bit of red, so I colored the images using those colors.

Here's the kit.

Thanks for visiting me today - enjoy your weekend!

A Greetery Christmas Card

I'm starting on my Christmas cards.  Today's card is all The Greetery goodies, mixed with my old favorite Spellbinders Hemstitch Rectangle.

supplies: white and Lipstick Red card, The Greetery Budding Beauties Winter stamp and coordinating die, Opposites Attract Holiday sentiments, Fit to Be Tied bow die, Altenew Crimson and Teal Cave inks, Spellbinders Hemstitch Rectangle die

I stamped and die-cut the berry branches and die-cut the bow.  Then I simply cut out the hemstitch details and stamped my sentiment before adding the die-cuts.

Again, this is nice and flat for mailing.

Have you started your Christmas cards yet?

Autumn Thanks

Life has been happening here and I haven't been able to make a card in weeks.  Meanwhile time marches on, and my favorite season is drawing to a close. Before we dive into Christmas, I wanted to make one more card with fall colors.

supplies: white cardstock, Tim Holtz kraft metallic kraft cardstock, PinkFresh Studio Lush Vines cling stamp, Simon Bold Thanks and Stitched Rectangle dies and sentiment from Cozy Wishes

I have only used this background cling once before, and it turns out it was the perfect choice for me today, because it was good therapy to take my time and color in all those little leaves.  After doing that, I trimmed it with a large stitched rectangle die, and from that, I cut a smaller stitched rectangle.  Both panels were then matted in metallic, and I simply added my sentiment.  I like the rich metallic copper accents with the warm colors!

Many thanks for stopping by today!

Fluted Classics Ovals

Becca Feeken has launched another collection at Spellbinders which is called Fluted Classics.  I chose the Oval version to play with today, and made a card for Thanksgiving.

supplies: white, Audrey Blue, oranges, golds, greens, and kraft cardstock, Spellbinders Fluted Classic Oval die and flowers from an April 2019 Small Die of the Month die set, Simon Says Stamp Vine Canopy embossing folder and sentiment from (retired) Autumn Blessings

This die set has 9 different oval dies, which break down to 3 sizes.  I used the medium size.  Like all of the classic dies, these will be useful for so many applications!

Thanks to Spellbinders for sharing these with me.

Simon Says........Thanks/Thanksgiving

Happy Wednesday - welcome to our challenge at the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge Blog!

This week our theme is Thanks/Thanksgiving, and the team is featuring Technique Tuesday products.

supplies: cream card, tone on tone patterned paper, Technique Tuesday Wrapped Flower Bouquet, Simon Leaf Bundle embossing folder, Hero Arts (retired) Color Layering Grateful Leaves sentiment, adhesive foam squares

I colored the bouquet to reflect the season.  This small clear stamp set includes the bouquet as shown, plus singles of some of the flowers and leaves.  I popped up an extra lily and a rose above my bouquet, and stamped my sentiment before embossing the background panel with the lovely bundle of leaves folder.  The effect is subtle, but adds to the overall design, since this stamp is on the small side.

Now it's your turn!  We have a $25.00 gift certificate

Handmade Holiday Release!

Simon's new Handmade Holiday release is now live!

I was sent a stencil called Christmas Wreath.

supplies white and burgundy card, vellum, Simon NEW Christmas Wreath stencil, Rejoice dies, snowflake embossing folder, enamel dots, adhesive foam

After stencilling the wreath, I embossed it, then fussy-cut it out, added a die-cut sentiment and popped it above a snowflake background.

This release includes 5 new sets of Simon's Saturated Ink pads, and I'm so pleased to see lots of embossing folders and stencils this time!  Another thing that caught my eye was a lovely mini set of glitz glitter gels in scrumptious colors - wish I'd had them to play with when I made this card!

To see the whole release, please click HERE, and for ideas on how to use them, I hope you'll visit our Gallery HERE.  As always, we've planned blog hops for Thursday, Nov. 11 and Friday, Nov. 12, and an InstaGram Hop on Friday, Nov. 19.  AND a YouTube LiveStream on Friday, Nov. 19 at noon EST!

Enjoy!
