Gingham Just Because

 My sweet friend Mary Anne recently sent me a nice assortment of these gingham/buffalo check dps.  Here's my first use of one of them.

supplies: white cardstock, grey gingham dp, Simon's Mom's Meadow and sentiment from Leafy Frames stamps, Stitched Circle die

Since this is such a simple design, I decided to try and do a partial die-cut of the stitched circle, to hold a sentiment.  So from an A2 panel, I laid out the die, then the stamp, and used washi tape to hold the die down and to know where to stop cutting.  I removed the stamp, then ran it through my BigShot.  Then I placed my stamp, colored it, and fussy cut it out along the outer edge.  

This flower sprig is just the right size to fit across the width of an A2 card - I decided to have it cascading down this time around.

Leafy Wreath

I just received this Leafy Wreath die and wanted to give it a try.

supplies: Green Leaf and kraft cardstock, BoBunny dotted dp,  PinkFresh Studio Leafy Wreath and bow dies, Simon Painted Hello die, Tim Holtz Lumber 3D embossing folder,  pink pearls

You know how I love wreaths, and this is a nice big one!  It doesn't need a whole lot else.  It cuts out the wreath, and partially cuts the details, so that they can be popped up - love the dimension!  AND there's a smaller wreath of just 10 leaves included in the package, too!  This will be great for all seasons - imagine the above with the pink changed to red for Christmas.

The bow is from another PinkFresh die set.

One thing led to another, and here is a card for fall!  It's this heat.......

I found the sweetest little bouquet die recently and couldn't wait to get it home to play!

supplies: white and Cotton Candy cardstock, BoBunny Early Bird patterned paper, Pink Fresh Studios Partial Cut Bouquet and Bow die, alcohol markers to color, aqua ribbon, pink baker's twine, PTI Tiny Tag and sentiment

This die makes a partial cut of the bouquet, leaving the center part attached to its base.  Here I added an aqua ribbon, threading it through the slits that are provided.

For my next card, I took it a step further, cutting it from both white and kraft card, then inlaying the colored white one back into the kraft base.  The 3-piece bow dies are part of the set.

Simon Says.........Anything But a Card

Welcome to another challenge at the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge Blog!

Our theme this week is "Anything But a Card", and we are using We R Memory Keepers products. 

I chose some ombre glassine papers and made a winter luminary:

These snowflakes dies make a partial cut, so that everything remains attached.  Since I have a cuttlebug which cuts only 6" wide at a time, I needed to trim my glassine to that width, and I also added a 2nd width of 2 1/2" at the bottom.  The top panel was cut randomly, and on the bottom one I lined up the medium sized snowflakes.  After making my cuts, the snowflakes  were pulled outward, and then I secured the glassine strips at the back of my luminary.

Wouldn't a group of 3 of these in different heights make a pretty table centerpiece?

There are 6 colors to choose from in this pack.  I chose the aqua, but I think this would be fun to do in green using the new Simon Partial Cut Leaves, or in any of the other colors with flower dies!
