Hello Dear

I got my Simon Says Stamp November Card Kit last week and finally found some time to play!  Here's a card that uses the sweet little deer and the birch trees.  If you like Woodland critters, here's the kit for you!

supplies: Ivory cardstock, 2 of the dps in the Forever Green paper pack, deer, trees, leaves and "hello" from the new Woodland Whimsy stamp set, my own "dear" sentiment, Simon's Stitched Circle die

Here's the kit:

I can't wait to play with the watercolors and the watercolor cards next, and then, there's that fun Ho Ho Deer circle die!  Don't forget to visit our Card Kit gallery for lots more ideas using this kit - I hope you'll add something to it, too, when you get yours!

Last week we spent some time at my Mom's house; she has several old fruit trees in her front yard, and we were tickled to watch as many as 6 deer each dusk feasting on the fruit!  At this time of year, though, I didn't see any fawns like this one........I think they've grown into teenagers by now!

Thanks for stopping by - hope your week will be a great one!

Thankful Flowers

Hi!  Today I have a card using the supplies in the Simon Says Stamp October Card Kit

supplies: white cardstock, striped dp from MME My Heritage, Tim Holtz Metallic Kraft Stock paper, Simon's Thankful Flowers and Bold Thanks die

I stamped the lovely flowers onto white cardstock and clear embossed the image, then fussy-cut the bottom half away.  Next I added a thin strip of metallic kraft paper to the bottom and trimmed it closely, following the stamp lines.  This panel was placed over the striped dp on a card base, and to finish I added my die-cut Thanks.

Here's the kit for this month - very classy!  Note that it includes a pair of mini scissors, perfect for fussy-cutting!

Simon's September Card Kit

My Card Kit  arrived yesterday - here's a card I made with the contents.

supplies: Audrey Blue cardstock, Bristol paper, Look for the Rainbows stamps, Zig markers and water, Shimelle enamel heart, adhesive foam squares

Starting with an A2 piece of Bristol paper, I stamped, watercolored, and fussy-cut the edges, then popped those panels above the Audrey Blue card front.  To finish, I added the sparkly enamel heart to pick up on the small sentiment.

This kit is packed with fun goodies!  I'm especially happy to have received the metallic cardstock - can't wait to play with that next!

It's Party Time!

If you have any little ones in your life, this month's Card Kit is something you need!

I had our youngest Grand in mind when I made this, so I used the most colorful dps from the kit.

supplies: white, black, and royal card stock, Doodlebug custom dps from kit, Party Like a Panda stamp and sentiments, MFT Wonky Stitched Rectangle die

I decided to make my cake a chocolate one, with sprinkles in the icing.

Here's a 2nd card using the panda die and flocking in this kit.

supplies: white card, Doodlebug dps, Panda die and black and white flocking, sentiment from Party Like a Panda stamp set, pom-pom from this year's January card kit

Here's the kit:

Just BEE-cause!

Here's a card using the supplies in Simon's adorable July Card Kit.

supplies: white, black, and Sunshine cardstock, dps from Honey Bee Stamp The Bee's Knees paper pad, Simon's Bee Yourself clear stamp set, black sequins from kit, Stitched Rectangles dies

Everything except the Stitched Rectangle dies is from the kit.  I chose 2 coordinating pieces of the patterned papers, trimmed them with a stitched rectangle die, then stamped my sentiment in the smaller one, framing it in black.  Then I simply stamped the bees and a sentiment on sunshine cardstock, cut out the letters to paper-piece, used markers to color the bees' stripes and gave them rosy cheeks, and popped the bees above the card.  And I added some of the black sequins to the flower centers.  Easy-peasy!

I hear this kit is in high demand, so don't wait too long!

Leafy Frames Card Kit for June

I received my beautiful Simon Says Stamp June Card Kit yesterday, and dove right in today!  It is a beautiful mix of stamps and design papers, and I used both on my cards.

supplies: off-white, Desert Storm, and Green Leaf cardstock, dps from Carta Bella Botanical Garden paper pad, leaf sprig, wreath, and sentiment from Leafy Frames clear stamp set, retired Hero Arts Raindrop Background wood block, Tonic Nuvo markers: Woodland Greens, Irish Clover, Fair Skin Tones, and Cookies & Cream

There are several colorways in this gorgeous paper pad - I chose to use the green/kraft/cream/black ones for this card, and a sketch that I've used before to show them off.  Two of the panels are from this paper pad, and I stamped the green one, using a leaf sprig from the stamp set, and a dotty woodblock to carry through on the dots in the other 2 panels.  "Just Because" is a sentiment I use quite often, and so I'm glad to see this pretty one included in the stamp set.

Here's another, using the rose colorway in the paper pack - this uses just 2 of the papers in the pad, plus a strip of Green Leaf cardstock, and a stamped sentiment.

The floral and the stripe are the front and reverse of one of the design papers.  I fussy-cut out a bouquet of flowers from the floral side.  Isn't the font of the stamped sentiment perfect?

If you're a paper fanatic like me, I'd recommend you pick up an extra pad of this gorgeous Botanical Garden - the papers are lovely!  It's sold out right now, but I'm sure it will be restocked.

Alcohol Pearls

In this month's Simon Card Kit are 3 full-size bottles of alcohol pearls, blending solution, and some yupo paper, so here's a card that I made with them.

supplies: white cardstock, Yupo paper, Sublime and Tranquil alcohol pearls inks, and blending solution, Tim Holtz Flourish embossing folder, Spring Blessings die, MFT Stitched Blooms dies, Limeade sprinkles for flower centers

I squirted on the 2 colors of pearl alcohol inks along with some blending solution, and then used a felt-covered tool to pounce the colors around until I was pleased with the results.  The resulting color mix is a beautiful spring green with a lovely pearlescence, and that's when I decided to make a card for the season.

After allowing the panel to dry a short time, I then put it inside the embossing folder, ran it through my machine, then lightly sanded the surface of the panel to bring out more of the flourish details.

The original plan was to cut the panel into pieces and just add my die-cut sentiment, but it was on the boring side, so I quickly cut some flowers to add to the mix and used some green enamel dots in their centers.  This design puts me in mind of sweet woodruff when it blooms ......beautiful green leaves with simple little white flowers.

Here's the Card Kit for May, which includes 3 of these inks plus so much more!

I hope spring is moving along in your neck of the woods.....we're having lots of rain at the moment, so that should foresee lots more green in the future!

May Card Kit - Delicate Flowers

What a pretty mix of elements we got in the latest Simon Says Stamp Card Kit!  For my first card, I decided to play with the washi tape and the biggest flower in the stamp set.

supplies: white cardstock, green dp from included Let Your Soul Bloom paper pad, flower, leaves, and sentiment from Delicate Flowers, Tonic Nuvo Rich Reds and Woodland Greens markers, washi tape from kit, Stitched Rectangle die

I first used a stitched rectangle die to cut out a frame from white card and a rectangle from the design paper.  I wrapped strips of washi around the frame before attaching it to my card base, and then inserted the green rectangle with the stamped sentiment.  Separately I stamped, colored, and cut out the flower and some extra leaves and popped them up for dimension.

There's lots more fun to be had with this kit - I want to play with the alcohol pearls and the silver sparkle sheets and more of the pretty patterned papers!

Lilac Love

Today I'm CASEing an idea by Cindy to use the tiny flowers in this month's Simon Card Kit to make lilacs, my favorite of all flowers.

supplies: white, Lavender and Green Apple card, Simon's Hello Darling flowers and leaves, Altenew mini inks and a matching green marker,  Simon Stitching Butterflies die, Tammy Tutterow Tiny Sentiments, Becca Feeken's Hemstitch Oval die, Doodlebug rainbow hearts sprinkle

I first cut my hemstitch oval and trimmed it to fit inside a lavendar mat.  Next I lightly sketched 2 branches for my lilacs, then, starting with the tops of each, stamped my little flowers in what I hope to be a lilac blossom shape, adding leaves at the bottom.  Then I just stamped my sentiment, adding an enamel heart, and the butterfly.

Thank you, Cindy, for your idea!

Simon's April Card Kit

My April Card Kit, Hello Darling, arrived yesterday, and I jumped right in this morning.  Here are 2 simple cards using the supplies in the kit.

supplies from April Card Kit: Ivory and Sea Glass card, Rainboot Planter die, dps from Spring Farmhouse paper pad, and sentiment sticker from Spring Farmhouse sticker sheet, plus my own zig markers and water and a scalloped stitched die

Of course, I had to take these rainboots for a spin; here I cut them first from watercolor paper, and used my markers and water to color the tulips and leaves, then used one of the patterned papers and a bit of Sea Glass card to paper-piece in the details of the boots.  It was a simple thing to do because the die has the details built in.   I even cut the boots apart so that I could run a line of black marker along the edges where they connect in the center, to make the details stand out better on the patterned design.

This next one is really simple, no stamping or coloring - I just used one of the cute images on the reverse of some of the design papers in the pack.  Love this sweet bird on the nest.  It's framed with it's reverse and a text paper from the included ones, and I added a sticker heart from the sticker sheet.

supplies: Dark Chocolate card, patterned papers from Spring Farmhouse and heart sticker from Spring Farmhouse sticker sheet

The large clear stamp set has a lovely variety of sentiments and some florals and leaves - I'll be playing with them next!  Don't wait too long if you're interested in this April Kit - I'm pretty sure it'll be a sell out!  Look at all that's included:

Simon Says Stamp March Card Kit

My Card Kit arrived and the first thing I did was to make a set of St. Patrick's Day cards for our Grands.  They are small - 1/2 of an A2 size, measuring 2 3/4 X 4 1/4".

supplies: white and Green Apple card, Doodlebug Lots o' Luck Icons stickers, Buttons Galore & More Lucky Charmz metallic shamrocks and stars, all from the March Card Kit, plus my own stitched oval and rectangle dies

On the inside of each card, I stamped the tiny "Happy St Patrick's Day" sentiment from the smaller stamp set in the green ink and added one of the shamrock stickers.

There are TWO stamp sets in this kit; also a nice rainbow array of colored cardstock and a mini ink cube in green, plus some envelopes and Lawn Fawn dps

Here's the kit in its entirety:

Simon's February Card Kit

Here's my first play with the Simon Says Stamp February Card Kit.  The stamp set and papers have a decidedly vintage feel, and will make some really unique designs.

supplies: ivory cardstock, Authentique Romance pink plank dp, Love Always stamp set, Zig markers to color, Stitched Circle die

I love the included patterned papers in this kit and grabbed this pretty pink plank as my base, then stamped, colored and cut out the bird and the large flower from the stamp set.  I simply stamped a sentiment onto a stitched circle, then popped it above the base.  I photographed it against the Metallic Cotton Candy envelope included in this kit.

Here's another card:

supplies: black and white card, Love Always flowers and sentiments, Rose Lattice Background, embossed in white, and the darkest of the floss in the trio included in the set

I stamped the roses across a white panel, masking one of the ends, then the sentiment, and then trimmed the panel and framed it in black.  That was paired with a panel of the pretty Rose Lattice background, embossed in white on black card, and finished with a simple floss bow.

The Card Kit is a real value and still available!

HERE is the gallery for this month's kit.

Simon's January 2019 Card Kit

Mine arrived while we were away for Christmas, so I'm just now getting to play.

January Card Kit

Here's a fast card I made using a sentiment and a snowman from the stamp set and some snowflake papers from the included paper pad.

supplies: Simon's January 2019 Card Kit (Snow Much stamp set, Echo Park Celebrate Winter papers, and Darice Pom-Poms), VersaFine Onyx Black ink, Nuvo markers to color snowman, Simon's Stitched Rectangle die, adhesive foam squares to pop up snowman

It was fun to add the pom-pom to his hat, it was the perfect size!  I just glued it on with some tacky glue and held it with a clothespin for a minute or so to make sure it stuck.
