Spellbinders August Club Kits: Beneath the Blue, part 2

Here are the rest of my samples for the August Spellbinders Club Kits.  They are available now through the 27th for new subscribers.  The fun theme this month is Beneath the Blue.

First is the Large Dies, Splash Tales, with a background using the Embossing folder, Coral Impression.

This month's dies are 26 pieces. Here's a second card using more of the dies from this set, along with the 3D folder.

supplies: colored cardstock, Splash Tales dies, Underwater Waltz 3D embossing folder, sentiment from Paper Splash

supplies: white, aqua, and peacock cardstock, Paper Splash stamps and matching dies, clouds from Birthday Bliss, (retired) Summertime Waves embossing folder

This kit includes 2 images and 10 sentiments, with dies to cut them all out.

My final card features the BetterPress Kit, Fish Parade.  The set consists of the circular pattern, plus 3 different sentiments, with 3 dies to cut them out.  This month I foiled the plates.

supplies: white cardstock, rainbow stripe pattern paper, Fish Parade plates (sentiment included), Rainbow Confetti glimmer foil

Once I'd decided on the rainbow glimmer foil, it was a natural progression to frame my panel up with a rainbow stripe paper.

You can look HERE for information on Spellbinders Clubs.  Each is available for new subscribers only from the 6th until the 27th of each month.  If you click on my links under each card, you can see the specifics of each product.  You can subscribe to each of our 10 kits separately, (and you can "unjoin" a subscription at any time without any penalty), or you can get them all, plus a free bonus item each month, and save 60% by choosing the Deluxe Caboodle!

Spellbinders Club Kits for August: Beneath the Blue

The Spellbinders Club Kits for August are now available for new subscribers, until August 27!  The theme this month is Beneath the Blue!

I'll start with a mix of the Glimmer kit, Beneath the Bubbles and the Small Dies, The Deep Blue Two.

supplies: colored cardstock (base is Spellbinders' Celestial), Beneath the Bubbles, Speckled Prism glimmer foil, The Deep Blue Two fish and plant dies, adhesive foam

Speckled Prism glimmer foil is included in this month's glimmer kit, and it is the perfect choice for these bubbles!  I think the Celestial cardstock which I used for the background worked beautifully with all the other colors, too.  The sentiment is one of 2 in the Glimmer kit. The Small dies this month are a set of 23, and on this card I only used the plants/coral and the fish.  You'll see the little divers on my next card.

I popped a few of the fish above the rest of the scene; that helped them to stand out a little better, especially that little school of the smallest ones.  This was really fun to put together!

Here's the rest of the small dies, and the 3D embossing folder, Underwater Waltz.  Again, a great pairing!

supplies: colored cardstock, The Deep Blue Two dies, Underwater Waltz 3D embossing folder, and sentiment from Paper Splash stamps/dies, Aquamarine Essentials Gems for bubbles

Can you believe the detail on these little figures?  But Spellbinders provides great directions to help us put them together.

My next card mixes the Stencils, Underwater Bloom, with one of the Caboodle dies, Fish Friends, and another stamped sentiment.

supplies: white, orange, and black cardstock, Underwater Bloom stencils, Fish Friends dies, sentiment from Paper Splash, adhesive foam squares, adhesive glitter dots

I made this one into a simple 4 1/4" square card.

And my last card for today features the Stitching Kit: Hand-Folded Stitch.

supplies: red, white, blue, aqua cardstock, Hand-Folded Stitch dies, 3 strands of white embroidery floss, (retired) Summertime Waves embossing folder

There are 2 other sentiments included in this kit, and a wavy die so that you can make your own ocean panel.

A Country Christmas

Annie Williams has a new collection being released today; it's called Country Christmas.  Here's a card I made using the Country Snowman dies.  Annie gave her snowman a bit of a cowboy feel - how fun!

supplies: white, kraft, and colored cardstock, Country Snowman dies, sentiment from A Merry Little Christmas glimmer plate/die set, red glimmer foil, snowflake embossing folder, adhesive foam squares

Isn't the bunny cute?  Annie showed the bird feeder full of seeds, and I followed suit, using markers to simulate them.  There's also a broom for the snowman to hold, which I didn't use this time.

The rest of the Country Christmas Collection is just as cute, with dies for a rocking chair and teddy bear, horse-drawn wagon, a barn, a big star, an embossing folder, and a sentiment set.

I thoroughly enjoyed putting together this little scene, especially during this hot spell we've been having!

Thanks for stopping by!

July Spellbinders Club Kits: Mugs, Mittens, and Sweater Hugs!

The Spellbinders Club Kits for July are now available for new subscribers!  This month's theme is Mugs, Mittens, and Sweater Hugs.

The small dies of the month are called Cocoa Greetings, and consist of 18 dies to make some cute mugs.  To begin this month, I made up 3 mugs which you will see being used today and in the next few days with various backgrounds.  I thought I'd show you them all together first.

supplies: Cocoa Greetings dies

As you can see, their hats can double as whipped cream dollops!  There's also a snowflake die in this set.

My first card mixes the Stitching Kit, Frosted Stitch, with the little deer mug above, and the sentiment is from the Glimmer set.

supplies: white, cream, pale peachy pinks, tan, and black cardstock, Frosted Stitch, 3 strands of white embroidery floss, Cocoa Greetings dies, Arctic Glimmer sentiment, silver slimmer foil, adhesive pearls, adhesive foam squares

The deer mug was my favorite of the 3, so I chose these pale peachy-pinks and white for my stitched card to use as a background with it.  It is a really lovely design.  Here it is all alone before I added the mug.  I especially like the 6 dainty snowflakes in the center!  I made this into a shaped card by cutting an extra white shaped base, scoring it about an inch down from the top, then securing that to my stitched panel with strong 1/8" adhesive tape.

supplies: pale peach and white cardstock, Frosted Stitch dies, 3 strands of white embroidery floss, adhesive pearls to match

Next I mixed the Santa mug with the Glimmer kit, Arctic Glimmer, and a sentiment from the Stamps and Dies: Stay Snuggly.

supplies: colored cardstock, Cocoa Greetings Santa Mug, Arctic Glimmer glimmer plate and silver glimmer foil, sentiment from Stay Snuggly stamp/die, adhesive foam square

The Clear Stamps/Dies this month are sentiments to fit this month's theme, plus various snowflakes.  This sentiment is one of the larger ones.  Silver glimmer foil is included in this month's Glimmer kit, and enhances the snowflakes nicely.

And finally, here is the Penguin mug, along with the Embossing Folder, Frosted Stitch, with another sentiment from the Glimmer kit.

supplies: colored cardstock, Cocoa Greetings Penguin Mug, Frosted Stitch embossing folder, sentiment from Arctic Glimmer

I'll be back in a few days with the rest of my cards from this new release.

Spellbinders Club Kits for June: Seas the Day!

The Spellbinders Club Kits for June are now available for new subscribers, until June 27th.  This month we have a fun summer theme called Seas the Day, all centered around the ocean!

I started out with the Large Dies of the Month: Sailor's Light, and used a sentiment from the Stamps of the Month: Anchor's Away.  I have a soft spot for lighthouses, because we love Maine so much, and this set has all you need to make a lighthouse scene.

supplies: colored cardstock, Sailor's Light dies, Anchor's Away sentiment, Rolling Tide stencils

The die set is huge - 31 pieces!  It also includes 2 sizes of mountains, and a light ray for the lighthouse, which I didn't use on this card.    The rocks are a nice touch, especially for someone like me who associates lighthouses in Maine with rocky shores, and the clouds and waves have some nice details, too!  If you look very carefully, you can see some of the stencils of the month, which I used to shade the bottom of my aqua card base to divide the ocean and the sky.  You'll be seeing lots more of the stamp set for this month, as it has some really clever greetings to go along with the other kits this month.

Next up are the Dies of the Month: Shipmates.  I think this may be my favorite of the release!

supplies: colored cardstock, a blue striped dp, Shipmates dies, Anchor's Away sentiment and matching die, Rolling Tide Stencil, tumbled glass distress ink

Isn't he somethin'?!  I love the details, especially his fun whiskers and pipe!  Also in the set is a seagull (his mate), which is coming up next.  The stencil is one of 3 designs this month, and the sentiment is another from the stamp set, which is primarily sentiments, plus an anchor image.

My third card mixes the other image from the Small Dies of the Month: Shipmates, with another of the Stencil designs: Rolling Tide, and the 3D folder: Nautical Knots.

supplies: colored cardstock, Shipmates Seagull and flag dies, Rolling Tide 3-piece layering stencils, tumbled glass distress ink,  Nautical Knots 3D embossing folder, Anchor's Away sentiment, Postage Edge Rectangle die

This set of stencils looked like surf hitting the shore, but it could also be underwater bubbles, so it's a versatile one!  Because the gull is small, I made my beach scene smaller, enclosing it in a postage edge rectangle.  Then that gave me the opportunity to cover the rest of the card front with the knots embossing.

My final card today uses the June Glimmer Kit: Cast Away, and the Opal glimmer foil that comes with it.

supplies: white and colored cardstocks, Cast Away Glimmer plate, large gull and sentiment from  Ahoy Matey Stitching dies, small gull and flag from Shipmates Small Dies of the Month, Postage Edge Rectangle

The Opal glimmer foil is very subtle, but still shows off the design nicely.

Spellbinders Club Kits: Large Dies, Glimmer Plates

The May Club Kits from Spellbinders are now available, through May 27.  This month's theme is Pages & Phrases.

My first card showcases the Large Dies, Spell It Out Fridge.  And there's an upsell die set called Fridge Staples so that you can stock your fridge inside!  Here's my card.

supplies: colored cardstock, Spell It Out Fridge dies

This set has 17 dies, everything from the body of the fridge (with a hinge so that you can make an inside version also, see below), to handles, fridge magnets, a polaroid picture, and various notes and ledgers.  But the star of the show is the mini alphabet included so that you can make your own message!  Here I chose to say "Love You!", and then grouped more of the letters down at the bottom, including those in my Grands' first names.

This month we have an upsell set of dies called Spell It Out Fridge Staples.  You can use it to populate the inside of your fridge!  Here's the inside of my card before I attached it to the front above.

supplies: white and colored cardstock, Spell It Out Fridge body and shelves, Spell It Out Fridge Staples

How fun is this!  I used everything from the Staples die set and had fun coming up with color combinations using cardstock colors.  My favorite is the jam jar, complete with gingham cover!

My last card today features the Glimmer plates, called Scribbled a Note.  The kit includes Satin Pewter foil, which is what I used for the pencils, then switched to black glimmer foil for the banner sentiment.

supplies: white, black, bright yellow, red, and navy cardstock, Scribbled a Note glimmer plates and die, Satin Pewter and Black glimmer foils, (retired) Everyday Sentiments stamp and die

I glimmered the pencils on bright yellow, red, and navy, then used the included die to cut out some individual pencils.  There are 4 different small sentiments that complete the scribbled sentence, but I chose to use a larger hello from a retired stamp and die kit from last year instead.

Here are the kits that I used today.  If you click on the picture, you'll be taken to the Spellbinders store.

Spellbinders April Club Kits: Large Dies, Stencils, Clear Stamps/Die, Glimmer

The Spellbinders Club Kits for April are now available for new subscribers!  The theme this month is Stay in Touch, all about letters and postage.

First up today is my card using the Large Dies, Lock & Key Mailbox, with help from the Stencils, Air Mail, and a sentiment from the Clear Stamp kit, Send & Seal.

supplies: white, blue, and red cardstock, Lock & Key Mailbox dies, a tiny heart die,  Air Mail stencils, barn door and blueprint sketch distress inks, sentiment on envelope from Send & Seal

The only thing not in the mailbox set is the heart, which comes from my own supplies.  How lucky that this sentiment fits perfectly on the envelope in the die set!  And I thought that the stencilled edging was a good way to tie everything together.

The stencil design that I used above is one of two in the Stencil Club Kit; here's the other design in that set, which uses 4 of the 5 stencils to create.  This card also shows you one of the sentiments in the Glimmer Kit called Scattered Letters.  Here I used my letterpress machine instead of foiling it.

supplies: pink and white cardstock, Air Mail stencils, 4 pink inks, Lock & Key Mailbox letter die, a tiny heart die, Scattered Letters sentiment, Postage Edge Rectangle dies

I simply stenciled the design in 4 pinks, then added it to the largest of the Postage Edge Rectangle dies, and added the little envelope and my sentiment banner popped up with adhesive foam.  This card measures 4 3/4" X 6".

And finally for today, here is the Glimmer Kit, Scattered Letters, and it's matching stencils that you get in the Caboodle deal, Layered Scattered Letters.

supplies: white cardstock, Scattered Letters Glimmer kit, black glimmer foil, Layered Scattered Letters stencils

I foiled the design with black glimmer foil, then used the 4-piece stencil set, which is the Caboodle freebie, to color it in Easter-egg colors.  I didn't mean to, but I missed coloring one of the letters; I kind of like it like that, as it brings more white into the design, to reinforce the sentiment banner.  And here you can see the 2nd sentiment included in the Glimmer kit (the other is on my card above).  The kit also includes a double banner die to cut them out.

Here are the Club Kits I used today.

Spring Plaids

I was in the mood to make some plaid backgrounds, so I went looking through my own cards for some inspiration.

One nice thing about Blogger blogs is that you can label each post with as many descriptions as you like.  Then when you're looking for something, you just type in a label you know you've used before, and  - voila!  -  all those posts pop up for you!  (this is only if the blog owner has added a gadget for such a search; mine is over there on the right sidebar: Search this blog.) So I did a search for "plaid" and found a couple examples that I made using an Impression Obsession cling called Painted Stripes.  When I used them before, I used just 2 colors, so this time I tried lots of spring colors, and here's my result.

supplies: white cardstock, Impression Obsession Painted Stripes cling stamp, Spellbinders Glimmer Bouquet plate/die, rose gold glimmer foil, sentiment from Betterpress Nature's Botanical Garden Sentiments, adhesive foam squares

The cling stamp was first stamped horizontally, one stripe at a time, then vertically the same way, using 5 different springy colors of mini ink cubes in my Misti.  Then I went looking in my scrap basket and found this already foiled but uncolored floral bouquet, and also this sentiment - don't you just love that?!  I colored my flowers to match the stripes as best I could, then mounted the bouquet above my card front with adhesive foam squares.

Impression Obsession has closed for business, but I found this painted stripes cling still available in a few places, The Frantic Stamper and Amazon.  If you're interested, HERE and HERE (second card) are older cards where I used it to make plaids. AND it makes a great stripe, too - love the brushstroke effect!

For my next card, I used The Greetery's Tartan Builder Diagonal Stencils, and more finds from my scrap basket, and followed the same sketch as above.

supplies: white cardstock, The Greetery Diagonal Tartan Plaid stencils, various ink colors, Spellbinders (retired) Hexi-Gem Bloom Glimmer Plate/die, Curved Everyday Sentiments foiling plate/die, Matte Gold glimmer foil, adhesive foam squares

Once again, my blooms were pre-colored and worked beautifully with my newly-created plaid!  And I loved mixing all these colors together; like flowers, I guess everything works together!  This one used 6 different colors: Wplus9 Bloomsbury, Altenew Sweet Leaf, Volcano Lake, Warm Sunshine, Frosty Pink, Dusty Pink.

"Sweet Day" would work for a birthday, so I'm entering this into this week's Simon Wednesday challenge: Birthdays.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Spellbinders Club Kits for February: Glimmer and Small Dies

Time to share my cards using this month's Spellbinders Club Kits!  Today I have the Glimmer of the Month: Spring Canopy.  It comes with Lavender Petal foil. And keep on scrolling to see what I did with the Small Dies of the month, Step into Spring.

I tried the glimmer plate first with Rainbow Confetti foil.

The glimmer plate is actually half of what you see above - there I foiled it at the top, then again at the bottom.  The sentiment is one of 2 this size, with some smaller straight ones included, also.

The set also includes a cutting die to trim the end of the branches.  Here's a 2nd card, using the Lavender Petal foil included in this month's kit.

supplies: white and purple cardstock, Spring Canopy Glimmer plate and matching die, Lavender Petal glimmer foil, sentiment and flowers from Dancin' Hoppy Bunnies Everywhere dies

You'll just have to take my word that the branches are foiled lavender on this one.  Here you can see the die that cuts out the edges of the branches.  I used a die from the Large Dies of the Month kit for my sentiment, cutting it directly into the purple panel and then allowing the white card backing to show through instead of making a banner out if it.  It looked a bit too small, so I added some flowers from the same set.

Next I used just a part of the Small Dies and made a little bouquet, borrowing the bow from the Large Die set.

supplies: white and colored cardstock, Step Into Spring floral dies, Dancin' Bunnies bow, Spring Smiles pieced sentiment

I did a Jennifer McGuire, and cut apart "spring" from one of the small sentiments from the stamp set to make my customized sentiment here.
