Simon Says.........Cute and Cuddly

It's Wednesday and that means a new challenge at the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge Blog!

Our theme this week is Cute and Cuddly, and my teamies and I are working with Simon Says Stamp products!

Here's my first card, in remembrance of those 1-piece jammies that our boys wore when they were toddlers.   

supplies: white and bright blue cardstock, Simon's Bear Necessities stamps and dies, a scrap of fabric and tiny gold buttons, Spellbinder's Scalloped Rectangle die, sentiment banner from My Favorite Things Blueprints 20 dies, a paper from My Favorite Things Dots & Stripes Sorbet paper pad, Lil' Inker Stitched Stars die

I couldn't find a paper to make his jammies, so I dug out some of my old quilting scraps and searched for something small-scale.  Using a tip from my friend, Heather, I attached it to some cardstock with double-sided tape, then die cut it - no fraying!  I added some tiny buttons, and then attached it to the bear's body, which I stamped, colored, and die-cut first, so that his face was peeking out of his jammies.  

This next card uses most supplies from Simon's March Card Kit, and I added some felt for the cuddly factor:

This one will go to our grandkids for Easter!

A Fabric Strip Christmas Tree

Melissa posted a really fun little project on Papertrey Ink's Make it Monday challenge this week, and the country in me had to give it a go!  She showed us how to make a little Christmas tree using strips of torn material.  I'm so sad now that I gave away most of my quilting fabrics, but I did find a few still remaining, and here's my little tree:

My little tree is about 6 1/2" tall.  I used a cinnamon stick for my trunk, and potted my little tree in a miniature stoneware crock.  My PTI item is just the Tiny Tag.    I love the music fabric and the bits of lace and the wood buttons!  This was really fun to make!  Next time I think I'll make it a little less wide, but I'm pleased with my results for this first try.  Thank you, Melissa!

A card using fabric

We were challenged at CASE Study to CASE Niki Estes card, and to incorporate fabric.  If there's one thing I'm rich in, it's fabric.......as a former quilter, I was the queen of the quarter yards!   So when I began to think about CASEing Niki's card, I thought of snowflakes; sure enough, I had 2 samples to choose from:

supplies: white card stock, scrap of snowflake cotton fabric, 3 different punched and die-cut snowflakes, Our Daily Bread "Peace & Joy" sentiment, Versafine Lagoon Blue ink, sewing machine and white thread, pop-up adhesives

I'll also be entering this into the Moxie Fab World texture challenge.
