Bright Blessed

Fusion is celebrating its 2nd anniversary with a big splash - a gorgeous inspiration and lots of guest designers to bring it to life!  I chose the photo inspiration to make my entry:

supplies: white cardstock, Wplus9 Watercolored Anemones and Doodlebuds stamps and die, Simon's Diagonal Stripe stencil, yellow Memento marker

After randomly stamping my flowers and leaves, I overlaid a stencil and used a yellow Memento marker to add stripes in the background.

Bright Butterfly

When I saw the Fusion inspiration this week, I jumped to play so that I could use this fun Darice embossing folder!

Floral Fusion

I loved both the colors and the sketch at the Fusion challenge this time!  And this is also for Kathy's 30 Day Coloring Challenge, and my first time playing at Paper Smooches SPARKS challenge, which is Anything Goes this week.  I needed a birthday card for a friend; hopefully this will brighten her day!  Here's my card:

Bright Summer Flowers

Here's the photo inspiration and sketch for the current Fusion challenge:

Those colors were just too fun to not play, so I ended up with 2 cards for it.

I just received some new Spectrum Noir colored pencils, the Essentials and the Primaries sets, so I wanted to play with them a bit, and this Stampendous Jar Bouquet stamp is new, too.  So I colored it up, doing my best to match the colors from the inspiration, and also followed the sketch.  I added a little Michael's rose as my embellishment, and the striped panel is from Lawn Fawn's Let's Polka pad.

This one uses a Darice embossing folder, Bold Daisy, which I embossed and then smooshed my picked raspberry, spiced marmalade, and mustard seed distress inks carefully over, before cutting it into panels and lifting it above my Walter & Winnie Big, Bold Seasons sentiment.  The added sequins are Lawn Fawn's.

A dual challenge

The ladies at 2 popular challenges have teamed up this week with 1 challenge between them.    Here is the inspiration:

Looking at the photo, I saw all the gold and decided to make an anniversary card.

I haven't used this lovely ornate butterfly in a very long time, and I love how it looks on vellum, so delicate.  I'll be entering this into both the CASE this Sketch challenge and the Fusion challenge.   Thanks for stopping by!

A song in my heart

I was immediately drawn to the photo inspiration at the current Fusion challenge because of the red dots and the music motif.  I decided to use my washi tape and after choosing the butterfly washi and the Unity sentiment, this card made itself!

Fusion #4

Just playing today, thought I'd give this week's Fusion Challenge. a play!   As you can see, I was most influenced by the unique sketch, but I did bring in the multi-florals, too, using this paper from Simple Stories Vintage Bliss.

My first thought was to emboss those concentric circles, but that didn't work out, so I used my Nesties circle dies to  make them instead.  On 2nd thought, it is looking decidedly like a yellow target, so now I'm not so sure about that decision :)) Stamps are Penny Black Dahlias and Eloquence.  I added some enamel dots.

Fusion challenge, take 2 and CAS-ual Fridays #97

I'm giving the Fusion challenge another try, and this also works for CAS-ual Fridays current challenge, "Chevrons and Flowers".

I used part of a gorgeous large Penny Black stamp called Bed of Roses and paper-pieced it with some Amuse dotted papers in the colors I saw in the Fusion challenge.  Again I used my MFT Die-Namics Chevron Stripes die and added a PTI sentiment from Garden Variety.  I added some orange/gold gemstones to the center of the big pink rose.  This looks really neon here, but irl these colors are not quite so bright......it's a dreary day here and I did the best I could with my editing........If you'd like to see another take on the Fusion challenge, please scroll down 1 post or click here.

Fusion challenge #1

There's a new challenge blog just starting up and I was really inspired to play.  It's called Fusion.   Basically, we were given 2 inspiration photos, and we can make a card based on either one of them, or "fuse" the 2 and make a card with both inspirations.  I loved the colors on the 2nd inspiration, and have really grown to love chevrons, so I chose to fuse the 2 for my card:

I found some solid flower stamps (darkroom door Carved Flowers, Verve Bloom & Grow, and Simon Says Stamp Flower Friend) and stamped them across a scrap piece of paper, using Hero Arts inks Punch, Pale Tomato, Orange Soda, and Butter Bar, then used my Die-Namics chevron die to cut it into chevrons.  These were then pieced back together on a blank white card, leaving a tiny space between each.
