Winterberry Bouquet

Here are 2  more cards using some new goodies from The Greetery.

supplies: white and Audrey Blue card, Winterberry Bouquet layered stencils and stamp, Opposites Attract Holiday sentiment stamps, Altenew Mini Ink Cubes, Hero Arts 2004 woodblock Three Holiday Messages, Penny Black Stitched Stackers die

After stencilling the bouquet, there are 2 stamps to add details to it.  The panel was then trimmed with the stitched border.  I wanted something in the background, so I used the Winterberry Bouquet mask and randomly stamped the Joy to You before attaching the panel to my card base.  I didn't invest in the matching dies, so my sentiments were fussy-cut.

Next I used some of the little individual leaf and berry cluster multi-step stamps on my 2nd card.

supplies: white and Lipstick Red card, Winterberry Bouquet layering stamps, Opposites Attract Holiday sentiments, Altenew mini ink cubes, (retired) snowflake embossing folder, adhesive foam squares

There are 4 extra layering stamps in the Winterberry Bouquet set, which I stamped and then arranged.  I loved the Christmas carol sentiment from "I'm Dreaming of a White Christmas" that you can piece, so after stamping them onto my panel, I debossed a snowflake background.  Then I just lifted the little berry arrangement above the card.

Thanks for stopping by today.

Simon Says.......Anything Goes

Happy Wednesday - welcome to our challenge at the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge Blog!

Our theme, since it's the last of the month, is Anything Goes, and the team is showcasing Impression Obsession products.  IO has lots of really nice sentiment stamps, and I chose one of them for my card for you today.

supplies: white, Audrey Blue, Peacock, Lipstick Red, Schoolhouse Red, kraft, and black card, Impression Obsession Little Things cling stamp, Spellbinders Sweet Birds on a Branch dies, MFT Wonky Stitched Rectangle die, heart sprinkles

These "little things" certainly make me smile!  Hope they do the same for you.  I added in some tiny enamel hearts in the places that the sentiment had them, and did some minimal coloring where I could on it.

Now it's your turn!  We have a $25.00 gift certificate

Peace on Earth

This Berries and Leaves stencil was included in the November Simon Says Stamp Card Kit; it's the usual 6" size, and it's so pretty I didn't want to cut it down to an A2 size, so I made it into a 6" square panel, thinking I can display it on a mantel or shelves when Christmas rolls around.  I may even frame it if I can find a frame to fit it.

supplies: white and Schoolhouse Red card, Simon Berries & Leaves stencil, peacock feathers and lucky clover distress inks, Tim Holtz Holiday Words dies, the last of my Darice red pearls as berries

As is my habit lately, after inking the stencil I left it intact and ran it through my Spellbinders machine with their embossing mat and embossing plate on either side.  I like the crispness it gives.  After adding my sentiment, I used some of the last of my Darice adhesive red pearls that I have been hoarding.  I wish I could find a source for them, if they even exist anymore.  Anyone know?  They came in limited colors, but each pack was only $1 and contained a generous amount of 3 sizes of pearls.  I still prefer pearls over sequins anytime, and I'm hoping they'll come back in vogue again one of these days........

Thanks for stopping by!  Enjoy your day!

Color Block Christmas dies

I've got some really fun Christmas cards for you today, using Spellbinders new Be Bold Color Block Merry Christmas dies.  I really had fun making these!

supplies: kraft, Green Apple, Lipstick Red, and Polished Gold mirror card, Be Bold Color Block Merry Christmas die set, adhesive foam strips

This set is engineered to make a regular slimline size card, 8 1/2" x 3 1/2 ", and for my first play I went with traditional Christmas colors and gold.  On this card, I raised my letters above my kraft card base - the foam strips I used were perfect for doing this.  By cutting my letters from 2 colors, I automatically get enough to make 2 cards....the same would apply with however many colors you choose, so this is a great design for mass producing!

Next, I chose some different colors, added some snowflakes to the mix, and glued my letters down flat to the base, lifting the "merry" on this one.

supplies: white, Lipstick Red, Green Apple, Doll Pink, Audrey Blue and silver glitter card, Be Bold Color Block Merry Christmas die set, some snowflake transparencies

This time my small sentiment is cut from silver glitter card, 5 layers deep, and the snowflakes are as old as dirt from my stash.  Since they're printed on acetate, they add just a little somethin' without taking away from the bold lettering.

I think this would also be fun to use small-scale printed papers for either the letters or the background.

Many thanks to Spellbinders for sharing this set with me!

Cozy Wishes

This month's Simon Says Stamp card kit is a winner!  I couldn't wait to dive in when it arrived recently!  One of the joys of winter for us is seeing the beautiful red of our cardinals against the sparkling snow.

supplies: white and Schoolhouse Red cardstock, Cozy Wishes stamps and sentiment, Falling Snow stencil, Moonstone glimmer paste

These are only a few images from the wonderful stamp set; this will keep you busy for days and days!

There's also a 3D embossing folder in the set - what gorgeous details!  I simply embossed it, rubbed on some red ink, and added another of the greetings from the stamp set.

supplies: Desert Storm and Schoolhouse Red card, Scandinavian Christmas embossing folder, Cozy Wishes sentiment, festive berries distress ink, heart sprinkle

Also in the kit is a stencil, some fun printed papers, a card of sentiment strips, one of Simon's Pawsitively Everything Tools - I got a blue one!  AND a pack of hot chocolate!

Here's the kit in its entirety - don't wait too long if you want it, as I predict an early sell out!

Joyful Bouquet

I wanted to enter another card into Pink Fresh Studios current challenge, and I'm coming in just under the wire with this one!

I fastened on the color of that purple flower and tried to find a cardstock to match it - I found it in a Memory Box Vibrant Violet pad.

Here's another shot to catch the gold shimmer highlights in the washi Bouquet.  The matte gold glimmer foil is a nice match to those soft gold highlights.

Thanks for stopping by - wishing you a lovely week!

Filigree Birthday

I've always been drawn to filigree designs, and so when I received this new Merry Filigree Card Builder, I was determined to use it for something other than Christmas, as it was intended.  I mixed it with another Spellbinders product and some washi tape for today's design.

supplies: white, Cotton Candy, and metallic gold card, Spellbinders Merry Filigree and Mini Slimline Nested dies, Pink Fresh Studio English Garden washi tape

My card measures 6 1/2" long and 3 1/2" wide.  I simply layered die-cuts in white over pale pink card, then cut my sentiment from metallic gold to bring out the gold details in the washi flowers and leaves.

The Merry Filigree set also contains a Merry Christmas circle die that will be really lovely for the holidays, even used alone as an ornament!

Thanks for coming by today!

The Neighborhood

I've always been drawn to little houses, so when I saw this new die from Simon's recent release, it jumped into my cart!

I cut the die from red, kraft, and audrey blue, then mixed up my houses.  Since I'd cut it 3 times, I have enough supplies now to make 3 cards.  Here are 2.

supplies: white, kraft, Lipstick Red and Audrey Blue card, The Neighborhood die, sentiment from  Inside Holiday Greetings, Lawn Fawn Fancy Scallop Rectangle die

I used the negative cut of the die to help place my houses.  Here's another, this time adding a red border.

supplies: Lipstick Red, Audrey Blue, kraft, and white card, The Neighborhood die, sentiment from WildRose Studios Snowman family, Sunny Studio Frilly Frames Eyelet die

Of course, these littles will be darling in just 2s and 3s when I want to make a little scene.  I saved the last of my houses for that idea.

Thanks for stopping by - hope your day is a great one!

Christmas Traditions Collection

Once again, Spellbinders was kind enough to send me some new goodies from their new Christmas Traditions Collection!  Here are the projects I made with them.

I was excited to play with these new Holiday Florals Background glimmer plates, so much so that I made 3 cards with them!

supplies: white and pink card, gold metallic card, Holiday Florals Background glimmer plate set (includes sentiment), bright gold glimmer foil, Hemstitch rectangle die, markers to color flowers and leaves

These florals come as half of the design you see here - just line it up in 1 corner, foil, then line it up at the opposite diagonal corner, and foil again.  There is also a 3-piece sentiment included in the set, and I  foiled the largest in the center.  After trimming my panel so that I could put it on a card base, I used my old favorite Hemstitch rectangle to cut out the design around the foiled sentiment, then matted the whole panel on gold metallic card, then onto a pink card base.

Here's another pink card, using silver foiling, with a die-cut sentiment.

supplies: Cotton Candy and Chrome Silver Mirror card, Holiday Florals Background glimmer plate and silver foil, sentiment from Santa Parade die set, silver sequins, markers to color flowers and leaves

And the 3rd card is much simpler, using a rich burgundy card with gold foiling.

supplies: burgundy and Polished Gold mirror card, Holiday Florals Background glimmer plate and gold foil, sentiment from Joy die set, gold sequins

Next I played with the Rejoice Nativity dies.

This die set has a little die which I couldn't figure out at first, until I saw that it was a piece to make this set into an ornament!  So that's what I did first, using silver mirror cardstock, along with an old piece of polished stone made years ago for the starry background (there's an oval die that makes teensy holes for light to shine through!).  I just cut out all the pieces and assembled them, adding a silver sequin to the center of the star, and some silver thread to hang it with.  If placed in front of a Christmas bulb, I think the effect will be magical!

supplies: silver mirror card, my own blue polished stone background, Rejoice Nativity dies, a silver sequin

So then I decided to make a really simple card that this ornament can be placed inside for presentation.  I used silver glitter and soft navy cardstock and silver-embossed the sentiment (which is from another new stamp set in this collection: Three Kings). I didn't use the starry background for this version.

supplies: Soft Navy and silver glitter card, Rejoice Nativity dies and sentiment from Three Kings stamps set, silver embossing powder

As always, I thank Spellbinders for the chance to play with these lovely products!

Simon Says.......Not a Card

It's Wednesday - welcome to our challenge at the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge Blog!

This week our theme is "Not a Card" - use your creativity to make a tag, something for the home, anything you'd like, but NOT a card!  The team is playing with Tim Holtz products this week. I made a little plaque that could sit on a shelf., measuring 4  1/2" X 6  3/4".

supplies: Simon Says Stamp Cotton Candy, Lemon Chiffon, Green Apple, Green Leaf, plus darker pinks and yellows and cream and kraft cardstock, a sheet of Ideaology Menagerie patterned paper, sponged in tumbled glass distress ink, the largest Lace BaseBoard frame, Colorize Bloom dies, a Butterfly adornment, gold leaf sequins, metallic gold "L" alphabet sticker, 3 sticker sentiments from Clippings book

I had such fun making this project!   First I diecut all the parts for the Bloom flowers and leaves, glued them together, then placed them into an arrangment, adding some metallic gold leaves, which are really sequins.  The floral arrangement was then glued atop the lacey frame, and I added some adhesive foam behind the parts inside the frame opening, since the frame is thick like chipboard.  Next I went looking for something to put inside as a background, and found this piece of Menagerie patterned paper which I sponged with some tumbled glass.  After that was attached to the back of the frame, I added a butterly, an "L" for me, since this will live in my craft room, and finally some sentiment stickers.

Here's a closer look so that you can read the sentiments:

Many of the "extras" on this creation were bits and pieces from past Simon Card Kits, which I keep all together for instances like this when I need embellishments.

Now it's your turn!  We have a $25.00 gift certificate

October Birthday Cards

Here are some birthday cards that look like October to me!

supplies: kraft, white, and copper metallic cardstock, Spellbinder's Autumn Leaf Border glimmer plate and copper glimmer foil, oxide inks in tumbled glass and autumn colors, copper and teal sequins

I foiled the border then colored in the details and the background with oxide inks and blender brushes.  Then I fussy-cut one edge of the image and trimmed my panel to fit an A2 kraft panel, on which I had foiled this sentiment (I think it came with the glimmer machine).

Here's another one, with gold foiling instead of copper.

Same process here, except I painted the foiled image with metallic watercolors and dropped the trimmed panel down a bit more this time to allow room for the sentiment.  As above, I added a skinny metallic strip to bring in more shine.

Thanks for coming by today - have a fantastic week!

You Are Stellar

Hello!  Today I have 3 cards that I made using supplies in the Spellbinders October Card Kit called You are Stellar.  These kits are new to me, but I'm learning that there's something for everyone in these sets.

Being the old quilter that I am, the first thing I open is the pad of patterned papers, and I used these as a starting point for all of my cards.

supplies: white card base, starry night sky patterned paper, Puffy gold sentiment stickers, moon, stars, and cloud from the die-cut shapes in the kit

You know me and florals, there's a pretty one that had some floral die-cuts to match - such soft colors, a real opposite to the one above!

supplies: white card base, floral and green grid patterned paper, matching die-cut shape and sentiment, frame dies from the die set in the kit

And finally, something waaaaaay out of my comfort zone:

supplies: white card base, ombreed patterned paper, stickers and die-cut shapes, and some irridescent sequins from the kit

This kit will be available all this month through Oct 24.  It's available as a subscription, but you can cancel and rejoin as you like.  All the details are HERE.

Thanks for stopping in!
