May Spellbinders Club Kits - Dies, Stencils, Stitching, 3D Embossing Folder

 The Spellbinders Club Kits are available for new subscribers, now to May 27.  The overall theme this month is Pages and Phrases!

My first card features the Dies of the Month, Classroom Chronicles, and Stencils, Write On.

The dies are a 19-piece set this month that feature this apple, and a variety of books with school-related words on their spines.  And once again the stencils have 2 designs; this one uses 4 of the stencils.  I love these chubby pencils so much that I didn't want to cover them up, so I chose to  put my focal image on a vellum panel, which I then popped above the surface.

Next up are the Stitching dies, Stitched Study Nook, paired with the remaining stencil from the stencil kit.

There is minimal stitching this month.  I had earlier stenciled the "wallpaper", so I built the rest of the scene around it.  Didn't add a sentiment this time, but there's plenty of room in the upper left for one when it is used.

My next card shows you the 3D embossing folder, Stacked Stories.

This month's folder has 11 different book spines all stacked up on top of each other.  I embossed just half of the folder, and turned my panel so that the books appear to be on a shelf, then carefully colored in the raised parts of the design.  This old sentiment from my stash seemed perfect, so I added some garden elements to reinforce it.

Simon Says.............Back to School

Happy Wednesday - welcome to our challenge at the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge Blog!

Our theme this week is Back to School, and we're playing with exclusive Simon Says Stamp products.  We'd love to see you using them, too, but no worries, you can play along with anything you'd like as long as you follow the theme.

I decided to make an encouraging card for someone who is going away to college for the first time.

supplies: white and a scrap of black cardstock, Simon's Amazing set and hearts from Hello Darling, squeezed lemonade, worn lipstick, and picked raspberry distress oxide inks, MFT Stitched Wonky Rectangle, black pearls

I stamped the large sentiment first in the center of my panel, then added some circle features and 2 hearts.  All were stamped in black ink and heat embossed with clear powder.  Then I sponged on my distress inks, The panel was then trimmed with the wonky stitches and placed on my white card base.  To finish I stamped and trimmed the small sentiment and added it along with 2 black pearls in the center of the largest circle element.

Simon Says........Back to School

Happy Wednesday!  Welcome to another challenge at the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge Blog!

This week our theme is "Back to School" and we are playing with Avery Elle products.  I chose a bookmark die and made some personalized bookmarks for 3 pretty special little people.  The school that they go to has an owl for its mascot.

supplies: white cardstock, Avery Elle Bookmark die, Technique Tuesday Wonderful Owl, Simon (retired) Simple Letter Outlines, markers to color, washi tape, various ribbons to match

I doubled up each bookmark, using a blank one behind the stamped one, to hide the marker showing through the back, and also to make it stronger.

Simon Says..........Use a Stamp and Blog Hop!

It's time for a new challenge at the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge blog!This week our challenge is Use a Stamp.  

We're doing things a tiny bit different just this week: you must create a project using a stamp, no digitals, please, add your creation to the linky as usual, AND then hop around to all of the Design Team's blogs and leave a comment.

We are all showcasing the new STAMPtember® products being released - a humongous release full of stamps, stencils, and dies! If you haven't seen them yet, just click HERE.

So since you have lots of hopping to do, let's get started!  You should have arrived here from my lovely teamie Jo's blog.  If not, you can go to the Simon Says Stamp Blog to start at the beginning. Here are 2 cards using the new stamp sets I was sent:

I repeatedly stamped the bus across the card front, then scribbled on a yellow gelato.  I stamped and colored the little student, cut her out on a stitched tag, and added my sentiment stamped and embossed in white on black to make it resemble a chalkboard, in keeping with the school theme.

My next card uses a stamp set that is really meant for using in planners, but I did my best to use a few of the elements on a card that could be given by a proud parent to a son or daughter.  Soccer was the sport both our boys played growing up, so I concentrated on that sport only, but with the many different sports represented in this set, it could easily be changed out for anything else:

This Sports Planner set has every sports ball you can think of, plus some sentiments that would really come in handy for listing all the practices and notes a parent would need during any sports season.

Simon Says..........Back to School!

Wednesday again, and we're starting another challenge at the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge Blog!

Our theme this week is Back to School, and the design team are using products from My Favorite Things, a company with so many wonderful stamps, inks, dies, and stencils!  Here's my first card, using one of their Pure Innocence images, called Book in Hand.

These sweet little girls are always fun to paper-piece; I just colored in her skin and hair with markers and used papers from Simple Stories Smarty Pants for her outfit and the background of my card.  This pad has some great patterns, both large and small, perfect for paper-piecing and backgrounds.  I added some twine and a wooden star at the top for some dimension.

And while I was at it, I pulled out another Pure Innocence image that I got last year for this challenge and used the same Smarty Pants papers, along with a brand spankin' new Bella Blvd. Hello Autumn dp that I recently won (the leafy green background).  This one gives a nice autumn feel with these colors.

It's Wednesday and time for another Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge!

This week our theme is Back to School, and the DT are using Maya Road products.  You mention the word school to me at this time of year and I'm in instant autumn mode, so I chose fall colors for my card.

I used Maya Road's You Are stamp set for my sentiment, and a Pure Innocence set called You Make the Grade. which I paper pieced with kraft, chalkboard paper, and some autumnal design papers, coloring in her skin and hair with markers.
