Five for Friday!

Hello!  Here's my contribution to Tammy Tutterow's Five for Friday post on Friday of this week.

supplies: Cotton Candy and Slate cardstock, a floral plank design paper from My Mind's Eye, Tammy's Hello There cling and Bitty Posies dies, pink and grey Zig markers to color, pastel felt, pastel pearls

I stamped the Hello There directly onto my patterned paper, then colored in the thicker letters with markers.  That panel was framed in slate, then affixed to a pink card.  In Tammy's stamp, there are tiny clusters of flowers where you see my felt ones, and I didn't think I could color them to show up against the patterned paper, so I opted to cover them with some of her darling Bitty Flowers cut from felt and centered with pearls.

I hope you'll visit Tammy's Blog to see what my talented sisters have done this time!

You're So Tweet

The sketch challenge at My Favorite Things for this week is an interesting one, so I pulled out an old Pure Innocence stamp and had a play with it.  The  bird chatter has definitely increased lately outside my window, and this will make a cute card to send to our granddaughter!

supplies: white cardstock, various dps from My Mind's Eye paper pads, My Favorite Things You're So Tweet stamp set, some stitched dies

Simon Says..........CAS Christmas

wed-newchallenge-header

It's time for a new challenge at the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge blog!

This week our theme is CAS Christmas, and the Design Team are using products from Memory Box.  They make the most gorgeous detailed dies - I was lucky to snag a pretty wreath die called Catalina Wreath.  Here are 2 cards I made using it.

supplies: red and green cardstocks, My Mind's Eye My Story patterned paper, Catalina Wreath, cut 3 times, 2 greens and a red, Simon's Christmas Blessings die, gold foil paper, gold sequins

This next one is not at all Clean and Simple, but I thought this patterned paper in the background went so nicely with it, I shared it with you anyway.   Love the country look of it!  I paper-pieced the flowers onto the green wreath, and added little white pearls in their centers to mimic the flowers in the paper, then popped the whole wreath up above the card surface to help it stand out a little more.  I paired it with one of my most favorite Christmas sentiment sets from Hero Arts, now sadly discontinued. The dotted letters just seem to go along with the whole style of the card.

supplies: white, red, and green cardstock, Catalina Wreath, cut in green and red and paper-pieced, white pearls, Simple Stories Cozy Christmas patterned paper, Hero Arts Miracle of the Holidays, and Red Royal ink

Now it's your turn - I can't wait to see what you create!  Heidi has provided another $50.00 gift voucher

Simon Says Stamp October Card Kit

Simon's done it again - put together some beautiful elements for their current Card Kit!

October-2015-Card-Kit-600-blog-hop
I made 2 cards for starters, and I never even got to the stamp set in the kit!  I used the papers and journaling cards primarily for my cards this time:

supplies: Simon's Cream cardstock for card base, My Mind's Eye patterned paper and journaling card, Simon's Black cardstock, Brilliance Galaxy Gold tear-drop ink pad, Simon's Painter Hello die, all found in this October card kit, my own gold foil paper

I chose this square journaling card that had the shape of a butterfly cut out of it, and framed it in black cardstock, then popped it above the gorgeous patterned paper, which has foiled gold here and there on it.  I also used the gold ink to put a gold edge all along that patterned paper.  And lastly I cut the sentiment from some gold foil paper and glued it in the center of the butterfly panel, which was then popped up above the card.  A simple design, but those triangles in the background give the effect of a million fluttering butterflies!

supplies: Simon's Cream Cardstock for card base, pattern paper, journaling card, and Pimento cardstock from My Mind's Eye, embroidery floss, all in October Card kit, my own Pretty Pink Posh sequins

Again, I chose this pretty journaling card, framed it in the included pimento cardstock, and then added some embellishments: tied a bow using the included embroidery floss, and fussy-cut and popped the butterfly from one of the other journaling cards, then added some sequins.  Love the sentiment!

Don't wait too long, I'm sure this one will be another sell-out!  For lots more ideas using this kit, don't miss the October Card Kit gallery at the Simon Says Stamp blog!

Happy Spring

I have a card today that works for THREE FOUR challenges!  I love when that happens!

supplies: Papertrey Ink's Friendship Jar Spring Filler (flowers and sentiment), Spectrum Aqua markers (Blossom, Begonia, Rose Pink,  Sunflower, Amber, Bud Green, Moss), backing paper from My Mind's eye Bramble Rose, pale pink hand-dyed seam binding

The challenge at Make It Monday is Fussy Cutting, as it is at the Power Poppy blog, and the challenge at the Spectrum Noir May challenge is to use their products with flowers!

I kept my card very simple and let these lovely tulips be the star of the show.  It's such a shame that when tulips are cut, they last only a short time.  So this is my way of enjoying a paper bouquet of them for a bit longer!  I stamped them on watercolor paper, colored them with my Aqua Markers and a water brush, then fussy-cut them out and popped them above the board background, tying on a soft ribbon and a tiny tag..

ETA: Thanks to Theresa's comment below, I'll also enter this into The Card Concept's current challenge, in the Clean and Layered style:

Retro Sketch #156

I really liked the current sketch at Retro Sketches!  Here's my take:

supplies: Wplis9 Quilt Cuts 2 die, Lawn Fawn Let's Polka, Mon Amie 6" papers, MME Pretty Things woodgrain paper, Simon's You sentiment, sequins

I'm coming late to the challenge, and there are some beautiful entries.  I decided to use this quilt square, just for something different.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!

You are the Best!

Playing once again with my W&W The Big, the Bold, and You stamps for the Moxie Fab World Hip on Handwriting challenge.  This time I used some paper from My Mind's Eye's Pretty Things paper pad. I love the mint green background, and the vintage feel to it.  I added my own strip of wide lace, and used more of the papers to fussy-cut the roses and pop them up above the card (the pale rose is double-popped).  Added a few pearls, and finished!  I haven't done a card like this in awhile, and I'm pleased with the way it turned out!

Thanks for visiting me today - have a great weekend!
