Easter Blessings

You should have noticed by now that I really love embossing in my backgrounds.  So when I saw this card by Jane Kathryn on Pinterest, I thought I'd do a CASE of it.  I loved Jane's idea because it really forces you to look at the amazing details in the embossed design.  Here's my version.

supplies: white cardstock, Spellbinders/Yana Smakula Amaryllis Garden 3D embossing folder, rectangle die, sentiment/matching die from Spellbinders February 2024 Daffodil Spray Glimmer kit, Polished Brass glimmer foil

I simply embossed an A2 panel, and overlayed it with another plain one that looks like a frame.

These flowers looked like lilies or fancy daffodils to me, and from there I went to our upcoming Easter holiday next week.  I haven't done a white-on-white card in eons, and these 3D folders work beautifully with that idea.  With a different folder and sentiment, this would make a lovely sympathy card, too.

The foiled sentiment takes it up a step, don't you think?

Happy Easter!

Bright Christmas

I really loved this month's Card Kit from Simon Says Stamp!  I ordered the stamp set almost immediately because of the 2 large linocut images, which were curated by Tim Holtz.   The kit sold out, but thankfully the stamp set will be available ongoing.  Here are 2 simple cards I made with it the day it was received, 1 for each of the linocuts in the set.

supplies: white cardstock, Bright Christmas village and sentiment stamps, VersaFine Clair Medieval Blue ink

supplies: cream parchment paper, Bright Christmas deer and sentiment stamps, VersaFine Vintage Sepia and Satin Red inks, a red enamel dot, small adhesive foam square

After watching Heidi's video that showcased the kit, I decided that I needed the coordinating dies and the little stencil set, but by then they were on waitlist.  They arrived on Friday.  Hopefully I'll find a little time to play with them before Christmas; if not, they'll be ready for next year's cards.

Are you ready?  Our house is decorated to the hilt with 50+ years of collected goodies; I just need to do a good cleaning before The Day!

Thank you for visiting.

A Heart Card

Here's a card made with an old favorite Paper Smooches stamp set called Best Buds.  It has several pretty floral motifs in it, one of which is this sweet banner with a selection of sentiments to go inside.

supplies: white and coral cardstock, (retired) Best Buds banner, Tammy Tutterow (retired) Prim Hearts die, Simon Says Stamp Detailed Ringlet cover plate, adhesive foam squares

After coloring and cutting out the banner, I decided I'd put it over a heart-shaped window.  This prim heart die by Tammy Tutterow/Spellbinders is a nice shape for a rectangle card, and is just a bit different from the usual hearts we all have, longer and skinnier.  After cutting it out of my trimmed white panel, I debated about using an embossing folder, and finally settled on this very subtle cover plate that adds just enough interest.

Hope you're having a good day - thanks so much for stopping by today!

Simon Says........Clean and Simple

Welcome to a new challenge at the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge Blog!

This week we want to see some Clean and Simple designs.  The team is featuring Hero Arts products.  You don't have to use this brand to enter our challenge, but if you do have some of their products, we'd love to see you using them, too!

I used a stamp set and 2 sets of dies that Hero Arts made first as a card kit.  But it was so popular that they were re-released as single products.  In my opinion, they are timeless designs!

supplies: cream and parchment cardstock, Hero Arts Sending Love Mail clear stamps, Envelope Accessories and Boutique Accessories dies, markers to color, tiny heart sprinkle, adhesive foam squares

Now it's your turn!  We have a $25.00 gift certificate

Rainbow Wreath

I love Pink Fresh Studio's washi tapes;  here is a CAS card using one of their latest.

supplies: white cardstock, Tim Holtz rose gold Metallic Kraft stock, Pink Fresh Studio Rainbow Floral Washi wreath and Folk Edge Rectangle dies, Simon Blessings die, gold sequins, adhesive foam squares

With this sentiment and the softness of the washi wreath, this card could be used for many occasions, from a sympathy card to a feminine birthday one.

I lifted the inner rectangle and the wreath for some dimensional interest.

Thank you for stopping by - enjoy your weekend!

Simon Says......Anything Goes

Welcome to the new challenge at the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge Blog!

It's Anything Goes week, and the team is featuring Clearly Besotted products.  You don't have to use this brand to enter our challenge, but if you do have any of their products, we'd love to see you using them, too!

I chose a beautiful floral set of stamps and went CAS this week.

supplies: white cardstock, Clearly Besotted Floral Spray clear stamp set, sentiment from Simon's Joys of Spring, adhesive foam squares

I simply stamped one of the floral sprays across the top of a horizontal A2 panel, then cut out the lower border, and popped it above my card base on which I had stamped my sentiment.

Now it's your turn!  We have a $25.00 gift certificate

A CAS Card for Christmas

Here's another Christmas card for today.

supplies: white and dark green card, Simon Pine Needle Wreath die, Pink & Main Holly Jolly sentiment, Altenew Crimson ink, Hero Arts Nesting Rectangle dies

I cut the wreath from a panel of white card, then used a rectangle die to size it.  The green was cut from a size up in the nesting set.  After gluing the two together I stamped my sentiment and red berries, then attached it to a white card base.  The group of 3 dots and the single dot stamps were teensy ones from some retired floral stamp sets.  Look through your sets and you'll often find some tiny motifs that can be very handy!

Maybe one of the fastest cards I've made in a long time!

Thanks for stopping by - enjoy your weekend!

Simon Says........ Clean and Simple

Happy Wednesday - welcome to our challenge at the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge Blog!

This week we're asking you to make Clean and Simple cards.  The team is featuring Hero Arts products.

supplies: white and black cardstock, Hero Arts Sending Love Mail clear stamp set, Fancy Cuts Boutique Acccessories and Envelope Accessories dies, oxide inks and blender brushes

All of the flower, leaf, and butterfly dies have incised details in them to give more detail.  Here I tried to separate and lift the petals on the flowers for a little dimension, and I popped the butterfly's body up.

Now it's your turn!  We have a $25.00 gift certificate

Variations

Hi!  Here's a CAS card using a phrase I use often for a special person......

supplies: white, Audrey Blue and Green Leaf cardstock, Memory Box Antique Corner Rose Label die and Big and Little Words stamp set

And here's a variation of this design, following the same sketch, the same sentiment set, but using stamps instead of dies.

supplies: white cardstock, Altenew Bamboo Rose stamps, white embossed and colored with Zig markers and water, Memory Box Big and Little Words sentiment, Sunny Studio Frilly Frames Lattice die

With pink flowers, this is obviously for a girl, so I used a frilly frame to trim out my panel.

As always, thanks for your visit.  I especially value yours today!

Heart of Flowers

Here's a simple little card that uses an older Simon die.  Since it's summer, I colored the flowers in all different colors, like you'd see in a garden at this time of year.

supplies: white cardstock, watercolor paper, Simon's Heart of Roses die, Penny Black sentiment from Peaceful Time, Zig markers (light pink, pink, yellow, bright yellow, english lavender, violet, and light green), MFT Stitched Mini Scallop Square die, clear sequins for some sparkle, adhesive foam squares to pop up panel

This works for so many occasions.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Nature's Grand Finale

I wanted to use my All Season Tree die for an autumn card - now's the time!

supplies: kraft, woodgrain kraft, Simon's Dark Chocolate, Orange Peel, Burnt Orange, Sunshine, and Lipstick Red card stock, All Season Tree, Impression Obsession Autumn Leaves sentiment, Memory Box Pinpoint Rectangle die

This is quite the intricate little die, and it really helps that there's a leaf die in the set so that you can change up the colors easily!  If you'd like to see 2 samples for summer using this die, click on over to HERE.

I'm hitting and running today - have a great weekend!

A Grateful Heart

Here's another card using the Brushstrokes Messages stamp set from Simon's October Card Kit.  This time I used fall colors.

supplies: white cardstock, brush strokes and heart from Simon's Brush Stroke Messages clear stamp set, Simon's Fresh Fruit ink cubes and VersaFine Onyx black ink, sentiment from a (retired) Hero Arts September 2016 card kit, gold glitter hearts

I used just one of the brush stroke stamps repeatedly, using fall colored ink, shortening the strokes as I went upwards.  I stamped the sentiment, then added a heart from the set stamped to give a feel of falling leaves, and a bit of glitz with the heart stickers to finish.

Hope you're having a great Sunday - thanks for stopping by!

Simon Says...........Clean & Simple

wed-newchallenge-header

Happy Wednesday, and welcome to another challenge at the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge Blog!

Our theme this week is Clean & Simple, and we are being sponsored by CASual Fridays!  They were so nice to let us each choose a stamp set for this challenge!   Here's the card I made with mine - it's September, so I'm running with a fall theme!

supplies: white, Audrey Blue, and Burnt Orange cardstock, Lawn Fawn Perfectly Plaid Fall dp, CASual Fridays Calm & Loving stamp set, Simon's Watermelon, Lemon Zest, and Orange Slush mini inks, and a brown ink, My Favorite Things Stitched Mini Scallop rectangle

I love that the "leaves" are all hearts, and there are lots of sentiments in this set that will work for lots of occasions.  And you wouldn't necessarily have to use the tree trunk each time, either, just the circle of hearts would be fun to stamp as confetti.  There are also several sizes of tiny hearts, which I used to make my tree even denser.  And can you see that the sentiment has teensy hearts dotting the "i"s?  For this heart girl, this set has it all - I know I'll be using this one lots!

Now it's your turn - I can't wait to see what you create!  Heidi has provided another $50.00 gift voucher
