Pink and Grey

I was do-less, as my husband terms it, recently, and was looking through my Greetery goodies, and came across a stencil set that, again, has hardly been used.  So I decided to pick some colors that I don't usually use: pink and grey, and have some playtime!

supplies: white cardstock, The Greetery Square Dance stencils, kitsch flamingo and hickory smoke distress inks, The Greetery Sketchbook Roses stamps, Pink Fresh Fairy Dust and Altenew Rock Collection mini ink cubes, Wplus9 (retired) Hand Lettered Hello sentiment stamps, pink enamel dots

This stencil set looks like woven ribbons to me.  This Sketchbook Roses stamp set has sadly just been retired last year; too bad, it's always been a favorite of mine.  After stamping, I trimmed it out by hand and then popped it above the stencilled background, adding my (also retired) sentiment and some enamel dots.

This has a moody look to it, which is interesting to me.  What do you think?

Winter Blues

Can you stand another card using these Antique Rose stamps?   I had stamped them in various colors, but never used these aqua ones, so I decided to do a monochromatic version.

supplies: white, and aqua foil cardstock, dotty dp from Whimsy Stamps Mix n Match 2 paper pad, Altenew Antique Roses stamps, Sweet Dreams and Green Valley inks, Fine Frames die, foiled sentiment from Birch Press Design Sugar Script Hot Foil Plate and Die set, teal glimmer foil, adhesive foam

I started with this paper with a mix of different sizes and shades of aqua dots.  Then I cut some fine frames from aqua metallic cardstock next, to reinforce my foiled sentiment, then arranged my florals and sentiment and popped them above everything.

I didn't think of it until after I'd named my post for today, but those dots do look a bit like falling snow!

Thanks for stopping by - have a good day!

Simon Says.......Anything Goes!

Welcome to the new challenge at the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge!

It's an Anything Goes week, and the team is showcasing Gina K. Designs products.  I have a thing for little houses, and used this challenge as my excuse to grab these Winter Wonderland dies!  I used them to put together a little New England village!

supplies: white, Audrey Blue, Cream, Green Leaf, Peacock, black, yellow, and kraft cardstock, Gina K. Designs Winter Wonderland dies, tumbled glass distress ink and a blending brush, sentiment from Simon Home Sweet Home clear stamps, (retired) PTI cloud die

I made a mini slimline card so that I could line up as many of the houses as I could, separating them with trees.  The teensy lamp posts are part of the set, too!

Now it's your turn!  We have a $25.00 gift certificate

Lace Heart Valentines

I didn't have time to share these with you in time for Valentine's Day, but I figure better late than never!  Last year I bought a set of heart dies from Spellbinders that have since been discontinued, called Lace Hearts.  It had 4 mix and match hearts in it, 3 of which I've used in my cards for today.

supplies: white and Schoolhouse Red cardstock, Spellbinders Lace Hearts dies, sentiment from Hero Arts Celebrate Everyday

supplies: white and Schoolhouse Red cardstock, Spellbinders Lace Heart die, Simon Blossom Field embossing folder and sentiment from (retired) Just a Love Note

supplies: white and Schoolhouse Red cardstock, Spellbinders Lace Heart, sentiment from Hero Arts Sending Love Mail

Even though this die set has been retired, the designs are classic.

Enjoy your day!

Antique Rose Cards

In keeping with my thoughts from a recent blog post about using what I have, here's another card using an Altenew multi-step stamping set, Antique Roses.  This set is dated 2019, and thankfully, it's still available - what beautiful details it has!  Lately, many of my cards are die-based; it was nice to return to my roots and do some stamping for these cards.

supplies: white and pale green cardstock, Altenew Antique Roses stamp set, Golden Sunset, Tea Party, and Green Valley inks, Impression Obsession Painted Stripes cling, Firefly ink, Pink Fresh Studio Perfect Sentiments clear stamps and matching die, adhesive foam, enamel dots

I'm really getting into this "use your stash" stuff, and this time I remembered this fun painted stripes cling stamp from Impression Obsession.  It's a big 6" square, so you can have your stripes running horizontally or vertically.

I popped the coral rose above everything else and added some matching enamel dots for extra dimension.  This layering stamp set was fairly easy to line up, especially since I did about 8 of them in different colors - practice makes perfect!

Had so much fun that I made a 2nd card.  I thought these would go nicely with one of the beautiful embossing folders that have been appearing lately.

supplies: white and gold foil cardstock, Altenew Antique Roses stamps, Golden Sunset, Tea Party, and Green Meadows inks, Spellbinders Floral Archway 3D embossing folder, Pink Fresh Studio Perfect Sentiments foiling plate, matte gold glimmer foil, matching die

Thanks for your visit today!

A Paper Hug

Here's a card that uses the papers and one of the sentiments from the stamp set in the March Card Kit from Simon Says Stamp.

supplies: white cardstock, patterned papers from Simple Stories Wildflowers paper pad, sentiment from Happy Hello stamp set, pastel sequins

There are several papers in this pad with large florals like this one that I cut out.  Then I just chose 2 other papers and stamped this fun sentiment!

Here's a look at the complete kit.   I've been wanting that Hot Hands tool, and I haven't yet tried embossing glaze, so I was thrilled once again with the little extras that Simon always includes in their kits.

Flowers and a Smile

February is the month I most dislike because it is almost always dreary.  Spring is always on my mind, so I pulled out a multi-step stamp set and made myself some spring!

supplies: white and a pale green cardstock, Altenew (retired) Hope stamp set, Cherry Blossom, Green Fields, and some yellow mini inks, Sunny Studio Eyelet and Lattice Frilly Frames dies, foiled sentiment from Spellbinders Glimmer of the Month kit: Tulip Border, magenta glimmer foil, adhesive foam squares and strips

This stamp set has a date of 2017 on it, and I'm ashamed to say it's only been used once before this; AND it's probably not the only set that I can say that about.  My New Year's resolution should be to play with what I already have instead of buying new.  I'm sure I'm not the only one thinking along those lines.

Anyway, I'm pleased with the results of this card and it brought me some sunshine while I was working on it.  Wishing you some sunshine, too!  Thanks for visiting.

Simon Says.....Emboss It!

Welcome to the new challenge at the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge!

Our theme this week is "Emboss It!" and the team is featuring Simon Says Stamp exclusive products.  I fell in love with this 3D embossing folder/die combination called Friendly Birds.  Although this came out last winter, I chose to "springify" it as best I could, imagining the berries as flower buds on our crabapple tree.  We look forward each year to the return of a pair of bluebirds, so I colored my birds to mimic them.

supplies: white cardstock, vellum, Simon Friendly Birds embossing folder and cutting die set, alcohol markers to color, sentiment from Simon Beautiful Butterflies, a Nested Circles die, adhesive foam

I embossed my background, and, after using the bird dies to cut out the 2 birds from scrap, embossed them also, then colored everything and popped the birds into place.  Not wanting to cover up a single thing, I chose a circle of vellum to carry my sentiment.

Now it's your turn!  We have a $25.00 gift certificate

Hope you can spend the day with someone you love!

Sending My Love

Here's another card using the pocket from the Spellbinders Stitching Kit of the Month, this time without any stitching.

supplies: white, Soft Navy, Lipstick Red, Doll Pink, and Green Leaf cardstock, pocket from Pocketful of Spring set, Impression Obsession Heart Stems die, various other hearts, sentiment from Hero Arts Sending Love Mail, My Favorite Things Wonky Stitched Rectangle

I've long wanted a pocket to fill with posies, and this one is the perfect size!  Doesn't it make a perfect little Valentine?

Sending Love

I have a card today using an embossing folder and sentiment die set from the newly released Four Petal Collection.

supplies: cream and gold foil cardstock, vellum, Spellbinders Four Petal Floral 3D embossing folder, Thanks Enclosed sentiment dies

These embossing folders are so wonderfully detailed - they need nothing to show off their loveliness!  I love cream mixed with gold, so I made this simple card that could be used for a sympathy card, a wedding, or just a classy "just because".

The new sentiment dies are just what I've been looking for - there are 21 individual words that you can string together for your own phrases, and each has its own matching shadow die.  I like the font, and the size is good, too.

As always, I'm glad you stopped by - have a good one!

Simon Says.......Fun With Dies!

Welcome to the new challenge at the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge Blog!

The theme this week is "Fun with Dies", and the team is showcasing My Favorite Things products.  I chose an old favorite die for today's card.

supplies: Doll Pink, Audrey Blue, and kraft cardstock, Craft Consortium Wood Textures dp, My Favorite Things Heart Tree die, sentiment from Simon Beautiful Flowers, Doll Pink ink, tiny heart dies from Simon Holiday Shapes die, Altenew Fine Frames die

I cut the tree from white cardstock, also kraft, aqua, and pink.  I punched out all the tiny bits from the white and used it as a mask to paper-piece the elements from the other colors directly onto woodgrain design paper, adding some falling hearts and stamping my sentiment.  Then I framed it.

Now it's your turn!  We have a $25.00 gift certificate

white, kraft, and Doll Pink cardstock, Spellbinders Picoh Petite Ovals die, wrap, bow, flowers and leaves from Cherish die set, markers to color, sentiment from (retired) Simon Love and Friendship stamp set, fairy jewels

It's fun to dig back through my dies to find little treasures like this sweet little floral bouquet!

Thanks for stopping by today!

Spellbinders February Club Kits

Here are my cards using some of this month's Spellbinder's Club Kits.  We have changed things up a bit beginning this month, and new subscribers will be able to order beginning the 6th of each month through the 27th.

First, my Glimmer of the Month card.  The Kit is called Tulip Border, and I used Magenta glimmer foil.

supplies: 2 shades of pink cardstock, Tulip Border Glimmer Kit, Magenta glimmer foil, markers

I foiled on the slightly darker pink cardstock, colored in the details with markers, and used the included die to trim the panel along the top of the tulips.  On the paler pink I foiled one of the 2 sentiments, then added that to a card base and affixed the tulip panel onto that.

Next is the Stitching Kit of the Month: Pocketful of Spring. There's also a set of add-on dies called Pocketful of Spring Sentiments add-on dies.

supplies: Soft Navy, 2 greens, white, cream, yellow, pink, blue, and red cardstock, Pocketful of Spring and Pocketful of Spring Sentiments dies, 3 strands of each floss color, yellow enamel dots

This fun set consists of 22 dies, some of which have incised guides for stitching.  I had classic Levi jeans in mind when I stitched the pocket in gold floss and added my sentiment from red to mimic the tag on their jeans.  There are 2 sentiments, Happy Birthday and Happy Spring in the stitching kit.  There is also an add-on set of sentiment dies that gives you 4 more options; that's where this one came from.

Here is my card featuring the Small Dies of the Month: Floral Mini Tiles.

supplies: gold foil cardstock, navy, medium blue, and red cardstock, Floral Mini Tile dies

This set contains 4 different shapes that can be cut, decorated with florals, and repeated.  I used this onion shape; the others are a hexagon, a diamond, and a teardrop.  I pieced 5 of these, arranged them as you see, and for now anyway, skipped a sentiment, because everything is so nicely balanced.

You can see some of the same florals in the Large dies of the Month: Spring Reflections.  This is a set of 21 dies, and has several variations you can change up: the framing, (there's also a trellis design) and the floral image in the center.  And there are 3 options for sentiments.

supplies: white, lavender, purple, 2 pinks, yellow, and green cardstock, Spellbinders Spring Reflections dies, tiny white pearls

And lastly, here are the Embossing Folders of the Month: Hydrangea Blooms and Spring Burst.  Both are pretty special, imo!

Using the Hydrangea Blooms, I made a mini slimline card and colored the details with markers, adding a sentiment to finish. This is the "regular" embossing folder.

supplies: white and periwinkle cardstock, Hydrangea Blooms embossing folder, markers in blue, purple, and green, Wonderful Script Sentiments

I cut the shadows of the sentiments 3 times to make them stand out from the busy background.

And here is the 3D embossing folder, Spring Burst!  I took that title to heart for my design.

supplies: black, pink, and a pale yellow cardstock, Spring Burst 3D embossing folder, white pigment ink, Stitched Glimmer Butterflies dies, sentiment from Sentimental Greetings, yellow enamel dots

I embossed my pink panel, rubbed it gently with white pigment ink, then added a big butterfly and a fussy-cut stamped sentiment.

You can look HERE for information on Spellbinders Clubs.  Each is available only from the 6th until the 27th of each month.  If you click on my links under each of my cards, you can see the details of each kit.  There are many ways to combine these products, and you can cancel a subscription at any time without penalty.

Hope I've inspired you!  Thanks for stopping by!
