Simon Says........Mask It!

wed-newchallenge-header

Happy Wednesday!  It's time for another challenge at the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday blog!

This week our theme is "Mask It!" - I know you're going to flood our gallery with some beautiful creations!  The design team are using Altenew Products this week, one of my favorite companies, because of their gorgeous florals!  I love their multi-step stamp sets particularly, because I don't have to color in the images; the inks do it for me!  I made 2 cards for you this week, using post-it notes for my masking.

supplies: white and pink cardstock, Altenew Beautiful Day stamp set, a Hero Arts pink, Ranger Pink Gumball, Simon Hollyhock, Hero Arts Green Hills and Grass inks, Simon Birthday Flowers sentiment, Ranger Archival Jet Black ink, markers to color apple blossoms, post-it notes for masking

supplies: white cardstock, My Favorite Things Country Fair Plaid dp, Altenew Painted Flowers stamps, Altenew Shades of Purple, Hero Arts Iris, Green Hills and Grass, and Brilliance Pearlescent Purple inks, Simon Big Scripty Greetings sentiment, moonshine sequins, Scrapbook Adhesives foam squares to pop up stamped panel, post-it notes to mask flowers as I stamped upwards

Now it's your turn - I can't wait to see what you create!  Heidi has provided another $50.00 gift voucher

I love your Beautiful Day Card but I want to know HOW you are maasking it for those results! What colors you used, what order, etc. TIA!

Vicki, my ink colors are listed directly under the photo of this card above: 3 pinks and 2 greens, plus a pink marker for the center of the "apple blossoms". My process: stamp the outline of the Beautiful Day flower, then use the lightest pink for the stamp that covers most of the outline, and go darker as you add details with the other layering stamps. To make my mask, I stamped the outline onto a regular post-it note, then carefully fussy-cut it out and affixed it to the flower on my panel. Then I stamped the 2nd flower and repeated the inking for it. I moved my mask around between these 2 flowers to add the leaves and the "apple blossoms", inking the leaves with the flower mask affixed. Does that help? If you have any further questions, feel free to email me - my address is in my profile here.

Oh, Lin, what gorgeous cards! I love them both, but I especially love the second one with the beautiful border and how you've left space for that great sentiment! And I love the plaid (loving how popular they are now). Beautifully done, sweet friend! Hugs!

Gorgeous flowers Lin. Its always a test to figure out where to place that "front" flower and then mask from there. You have mastered that test again and again.
