Simon Says........New Somethings!

Welcome to another challenge at the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge Blog!

Happy New Year and welcome to our first challenge of 2017 !  Our theme this week is "New Somethings" and the team are showcasing Simon Says Stamp exclusive products.

My "new" is a set of Simon rose dies from the last DieCember release called Hey Love.  I die-cut them once and made 2 cards from them, using the positive and negative die-cuts.

This first one uses the negative die-cuts, and some papers that I made ages ago using the polished stone technique (pouncing alcohol inks on glossy white paper).   I love how this one appears to have been stenciled, but I just used the positive die-cut as a spacer to insert my negative pieces, gluing them down one by one, then removing the outine die, which I then used on my 2nd card below.

supplies: white and aqua cardstock, my own polished stone papers, Simon's Elegant Roses dies and It's Your Birthday stamps, DieNamics Layered LeavesBlueprints 20 stitched rectangle, Winnie & Walter Audrey's Cutaways scalloped rectangle

For this one, I used the positive die-cuts:

supplies: white cardstock, my own polished stone papers, Simon's Elegant Roses dies and It's Your Birthday stamps, DieNamics Layered Leaves, Taylored Expressions Garden Party embossing folder, Winnie & Walter Audrey's Cutaways scalloped rectangle, Doodlebug enamel dots

I used another "new" crafty item on this last card, the lovely Garden Party embossing folder.

Now it's your turn - I can't wait to see what you create!  Heidi has provided another $50.00 gift voucher

to the amazing Simon Says Stamp store for 1 lucky random winner of this week's challenge!

Wonderful use of both the die outline and the inner bits. Quite clever to show both in one post. Love em both.

Oh Lin what wonderful cards - and so wonderful to use both the postive and the negative to make two totally different cards.

Oh, Lin, what gorgeous cards! I love when you can use everything little bit of paper (or fabric) in projects! I love the first one that truly does look like you've used a stencil and paste, and how beautiful is the second one with the "remains" of the die cut. Love how you've used both to make two gorgeous cards! It inspires me to look at my dies a bit differently! Clever girl! Hugs, sweet friend, and I hope you are keeping warm!

Lin, These cards I just so pretty! (I love your use of the die cuts and their negatives. Why don't I ever remember to do that! LOL) And, thank you for the kind words you left when visiting my blog. All you SSS gals are crazy talented, and your comments mean so much. :)
