Here's another entry for the CASual Fridays challenge, to use text prominently in our creation. This one I love, but I'm not so sure it would be considered CAS. I'd love some suggestions, please. Is there too much going on to be considered CAS? And when I think of CAS cards, they're always on a white ground - is color allowed?
supplies: periwinkle cardstock, text from an old book, Hero Arts S5324 Simple Frame, CL428 Earth Flowers, CL430 Real Garden Petals, Brilliance Pearlescent Lavender, peeled paint distress, and versafine onyx black inks
We'll be away for a few days visiting my Mom, so I'll take this opportunity to wish you all a very happy Mother's Day!! I received some gourmet brownies in the mail today, so I'm a happy Momma!!

Gorgeous Lin! YES color is allowed and welcome!! So often times "white space" is mentioned when defining CAS. I think open space is a better description as there isn't a color reference to get in the way :) Love that you stamped your images right over the text :) Glad to see more of your creations at CAS-ual Fridays!

Lin, I think you have the idea of CAS...I like to think of not necessarily "white space" but any space, just like you left around the outside of your frame. (But that's just me!) I also think it means few layers, and you have achieved that, too. (I mean layers of paper and embellies, not stamping!) Anyway, this is another beautiful entry into the CAS-usal Fridays challenge. Great job...again!

Gorgeous!! And yes, you absolutely can use a colored background - "white space" is a generic term for lots of wide open space, no matter the color. That frame image is really cool, and I love the addition of the newsprint.
