supplies: parchment and blue cardstock, Darice "Damask" embossing folder, Cheery Lynn butterfly die, Hero Arts CL569 Truly Grateful, Adirondack Stonewash ink, Hobby Lobby lace and gingham ribbon, PTI blue button
Blue has always been my favorite color, and lately I have been enjoying the wonderful dimension that dry embossing gives a card. I added some beautiful lace and a butterfly, a bit of gingham ribbon and a blue button, and it was finished.
I highly recommend this little exercise every once in awhile - it helped to remind me why I'm doing all of this!

Hi Lin.....I think you should do more cards for the pure joy of creating.....this card is stunning! I love this design!
Creating just for the fun of creating: I just talked about it with my best friend. We both are in cardmaking and we agreed it must be fun and not a must!
You made a lovely card Lin! Blue is my favorite color too.
Beautiful card Lin! And I see that you've used your favorite colour. :) Thanks for sharing.
I love this design! Those soft colors and that lace, paired with the dainty butterfly - it's simply elegant!
such a pretty card Lin. Glad you had fun doing something for yourself.
Yes, its really me Lin! So sorry not to have visited in a while. And I agree, it is nice to make a card 'just because' once in a while but I often do need a challenge to get me going. Love these beautiful colours and the gorgeous embossing.
And I spotted you are on Pinterest! Very interesting...... ;o)
You (& dear Cheiron) are so right, Lin! We need to do for yourselves once in awhile. And, from what I lave learned (& loved) about you, this card is all you! Love the great texture, colors and design. A real winner - even without a contest! Thanks for sharing the card and the thought.
Lin it was so nice to hear that you had a day to create for YOU! Your card is filled with wonderful texture and the design is fantastic!
Absolutely stunning card, within the 'do-able' range of an amateur card maker (who follows you on Pinterest). I hope you will post this one. The texture of the emboss with the delicacy of the lace is so perfect. TFS
