Stretch Your Stamps, Day 9: Sketched Outlines

If you're here for my Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge post, please click HERE.  Thanks!

Oh my goodness, this is my favorite day so far in our lessons!  I was blown away by the examples we were given, all FIVE of them!  I'll be attempting them all.....  I started with what I thought would be the hardest technique for me, which Dawn calls sketched outlines.  Because I thought I'd have a rough time with it I decided to CASE Dawn's card first to learn the technique, and then try to do it again with a slightly different design of my own.  Here are my cards:

supplies: floral and leaf stamps from Avery Elle's Petals & Stems and Wplus9's Folk Art Florals and Fresh Cut Florals, stamped in Wplus9's Sweet Nectar, Hero Arts Pale Tomato, and bundled sage distress ink,  Hello die cut is Simon Says Stamp, stamped sentiment is Avery Elle's Simply Said Hello.  I used tumbled glass distress ink to smudge the blue around the stamped designs and a fine-tip Zig marker for my sketched outlines.   My panel was mounted on a card base of Simon's Surf Blue, which is also the color used in the die-cut circle.

So having gained some confidence, I tried it again, changing up the colors a bit, but still using her design for the most part.

I used the same stamps, but my inks were Memories Coral, Wplus9's Wild Mango, and Hero Arts Grass.  My card base and circle are Hero Arts palest green in their foliage layering papers pack, and I stamped my sentiment this time, using Winnie & Walter's Big, Bold Seasons and The Big, the Bold and the Happy.  I added some Doodlebug sprinkles, too.

I really enjoyed outlining the stamped elements, and I think I'll use this technique often.....it does give a different look, and makes you feel so artistic!!

Thanks for visiting - I'll be back tomorrow, I hope, with another couple cards.
