My sweet friend Virginia has asked me to be one of her guest designers for her September Virginia's View challenge! It's called Pattern Paper, and I loved making something for it.
This whole card started with the mint and pink piece of 12" paper from Crate Paper's Oh Darling! collection, with assorted pinks from my scraps. I made a patchwork background, then paper-pieced the Hero Arts Artists Butterfly and added some pink sequins for sparkle. The strip background idea was taught to me by my friend Mary Anne many years ago. And it'a great way to use up scraps, too! I'll add a sentiment on this one when I use it.
Virginia has lined up a WOW list of designers this month: Piali Biswas, Shelly Kurth, Tracey McNeeley, Iwona Palamountain, Vicky Papaiouannou, Miriam Pratner, and Amy Tsuruta! I hope you'll join us over at Virginia's View and then make a card using Pattern Papers!

love the mix of pp's, so very beautiful!! :)
I adore the pink and green combo! Lovely card!
Beautiful card Lin! So often we forget the techniques and stamps we knew in the beginning. You've done a wonderful job showcasing two things (quilted background and that butterfly) I once loved but haven't used in quite a long time! Thanks for the inspiration :)
Gorgeous card, Lin! Love how you used the patterned paper - your butterfly is so beautiful! ♥

Congrats on guesting at VV, Lin! Love the strip-quilt look background you've created.
I'm sorry Lin I am so behind. This is a fabulous use of patterned paper, I love that they are from the same family and the butterfly is beautiful with the sequins!
