On the Hero Arts Blog this week, Shari has done some Valentine-themed cards, and Tuesday she shared some heart-shaped templates with us. Here is what I've been playing with ever since.
Pocket cards are just what they say, a card that, instead of opening the normal way, has a pocket on it, and you can add a note or something else inside that pocket. I made all of these by sewing a zig-zag stitch all along the edges of the pocket to attach it to the backing.
This one's my favorite, but it's too bulky for mailing. Inside the pocket is a paper doily cone, stuffed with inexpensive fabric flowers from the craft store:
This one would fit into an envelope a bit better. Again there's a doily cone, but I used flat paper flowers to adorn it:
And this is the simplest of the three; its pocket has a smaller heart with the sentiment. Here it is pulled out, but it would be tucked in for the receiver to find:
