Welcome Summer

Here's my card for our bi-weekly team post at Tammy Tutterow's blog.  Since summer officially started just a few days ago, I decided to make a card using colors to reflect the season.

supplies: Bristol paper, Hero Arts kraft and Simon Audrey Blue and Orange Peel cardstock, Tammy's Sunflower Bunch and Dear Ruby clings, Impression Obsession Wooden Plank cling, My Favorite Things Peek-a-Boo window die, Winnie & Walter Big Bold Seasons sentiment and summer cutaway, Zig brush markers, adhesive foam squares

I started by  horizontally stamping the wooden plank with a medium brown ink onto kraft cardstock, then overstamping in black the Dear Ruby script background.  I die-cut the window from the center of that panel.  Then I stamped the bouquet twice and colored and cut it out, along with just a single sunflower to pop above it.  The bouquet was glued across the window and I added my sentiment before popping the whole panel above the card base.  You can't see the dimension from my photo, but I like it better popped up than flat......

This card is part of Tammy's bi-weekly post where my teamies and I get to show off our work using her amazing products.  I hope you'll pop over there to see what they've done this time!

  1. Oh my, Lin, your card is beautiful. I love the vibrant flowers and the way you gave the card dimension. So pretty!

    Cathie ♥

  2. I really like this stamp perched above the cut out window. Was amazed to hear that the panel was two stamps - assumed Ruby on a textured printed paper. Nice effect Lin!

  3. Fab card, Lin! Just love the script on the wood plank background!!

  4. I love the scripts over stamping on the plank and the flower bunch over the window is lovely.

  5. Cute card Lin, looks like summer to me!!

  6. There is so much to love here, starting with the Dear Ruby stamp on the brown background paper. It looks like aged cork, which is fabulous! The colors just pop, and then there's that sweet little window! I love this Happy card!

  7. How gorgeous Lin - love the flowers in front of the window

  8. I love your card Lynn! But all that fussy cutting: you have more patience than I do! :-) Have you asked Tammy if she is going to colaborate with Spellbinders on getting some dies to go with this set to do the fussy cutting for us? Hugs, H

    1. Thanks for asking Helen! Since this stamp is already out, it won't be possible to add a die to it (they like to package them together).

But the good news is as my line grows and evolves I am learning lots about what people want to make their crafting easier and that means more matching stamp and die sets! I am shooting for half of each new collection of stamps to have matching dies and half to not. The fussier the design, the more likely it will be to have a die.

Thank you so much for your kind comments - they make my day!
