Simon Says........Party!

Happy Wednesday!  Welcome to another challenge at the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge Blog!

Our theme this week is Party, and my teamies and I are showcasing Your Next Stamp products.    I stretched the theme a bit with my stamp choice - these are popular stamps, and many of them were out of stock when I ordered.....so let's just say these 2 are having an openhouse/caroling party.....

Foiled Christmas Cards

Foiling and Christmas are a match made in heaven - I had these 3 cards finished lickety-split!

supplies: metallic gold and red card, Gina K. Ornamental Holiday Foil Mates sheet, Joyful Holiday Foil Mates sheets, Sparkling Silver, Red, and Gold Sequins foils, laminator

The silver foil really puts on a show - giving off a rainbow of colors!

Here's another, a bit more detailed because I added some stamped holly and berries to the mix:

The striped pattern is from a black and white paper pad that is printed with toner so that it will accept foiling when run through a hot laminating machine.  What a genius idea, and I hope that Gina K will give us more of the same!

Robins on a Wreath

Another Christmas card share today - a mix of 2 of my favorite stamps and a fun framing die.

Big Great Wonderful World collection!

I was honored to receive some new dies from Sharyn Sowell's newest collection, Great, Big, Wonderful World!  Here are my first cards using them:

Isn't this a beauty?  I love the bleeding hearts and perhaps lilies of the valley that Sharyn included with her butterfly.....and do you see the negative heart that surrounds the butterfly?

Here's another of the new dies, this one called Join the Parade.  Since the first card was so delicate in color, I amped it up into brights for this next one.

These dies do all the work - you just need to find pretty papers or matching sentiments, if you wish, to complete an easy card!

This die was love at first sight - and when I got it home I decided to do some old-fashioned paper-piecing with colored cardstock.  This die covers a card nicely, and I don't think it needs a sentiment, so I just centered it on my card front.

Spellbinders December Large Die of the Month

Wait until you see the new December Spellbinders Large Die of the Month set!  They are unlike any other dies I own, and I know they'll be used often when I want to make a slightly-out-of-the-ordinary card.

The dies are fun and easy to play with, so I made 2 different versions.  First is a Christmas card.

Next I made a thank you card, using the Many Thanks die included in the set, along with the flowers and leaves dies in it:

The die set includes everything you see here, except for the sentiment that I added.  There are flowers, leaves, a heart, plus the circle greeting and frame for it and of course the dies that cut the card with the circle cut-out.  I also have noticed that the Small Die of the Month contains more circle sentiments that coordinate with this set: birthday wishes, happy for you, and from all of us.

I love this set because I can use my design papers, mixing and matching to my heart's content!  I hope you'll give it a try, too!  It's available this month only, while supplies last.

It's DIEcember!!

Simon Says.........Baby, It's COLD outside!

We have a fun theme for you this week - Baby, It's COLD Outside!  And my teamies and I are playing with Penny Black goodies.  

My mind went instantly to my Snowy snowman, and I decided to play with him this week.

As I've done before, I paper-pieced his scarf and hat - it's fun to add some pattern to him!  And just for fun, I CASEd a card by Nancy Thomas for my 2nd card, using my own elements.

This time I colored his hat and scarf with a red marker, then added white dots with a gel pen.  And I tore a circle of white to make snow in the background circle.

DH and I spent some time yesterday bagging wet leaves, and there are STILL some leaves up in the trees.........hopefully one more big wind will do it!  I do love fall, but its residue can get you down!

'Tis the Season

I've fallen in love with yet another My Favorite Things set of birds, in this case, their Tweet Holidays stamps.  I had a fun day yesterday playing with them, and here are some results.

And lastly, I CASEd a recent card of my own for this last design.

I masked off an area to repeatedly stamp one of the sentiments in the set, then framed the panel in a plaid, colored the birds and leaves to match, added a group of leaves, and popped the birds above the card.  

Winter appears to have arrived here, and we have still to finish our fall clean-up!  Not looking forward to raking up frozen leaves; let's hope we get a little break soon.  In the meantime, stay warm and cozy!
