Trend Watch: Stripes

When I saw that one of the suggested trends for the Wplus9 Trend Watch challenge was stripes, I got right to work making this card.  I have always been drawn to a striped pattern with a floral border beside it, so that's the direction I went.

I have had these Fresh Cut Florals stamps and dies for ages but have been intimidated using them, as they are everywhere in blogland, and I felt I had nothing unique to offer.  So these stamped and die-cut images were just waiting for me in a little plastic bag where I had set them aside after making them.  This time, after stamping the stripe in pink and adding a Martha Stewart doily edge punch, everything came together to my liking.  They are so much fun to play with and arrange in different ways - maybe I'll not be so slow to use them next time!

Hope you like it too - thanks for visiting!

So dear, Lin. This card reminds me of a wonderful set of bed sheets that my Mom had. These stamps look like such fun - I have wanted them for months. Now the dies are out of stock! Ah, well, I can't really play yet....thanks for sharing.

Such an beautiful card. It really caught my eye on Pnterest. But what I loved reading on your blog is that you were intimidated to use them because you felt you had nothing new to offer. Wow! I feel that way a lot too! Thanks so much for sharing!
