Pretty Pink Posh Sequin Shaker Blog Hop!

bloghop

Happy Weekend, and welcome to my little stop on the Pretty Pink Posh Sequin Shaker Blog Hop!  Shaker cards have long intrigued me, and I'm so glad that Paulina has thought of having a hop devoted to nothing but shaker cards!  These are the first I've ever made, and they were really lots of fun!  And I learned a thing or 2 along the way.

For this one, I made a little shaker box sandwich, with a stamped backing, an acetate front, and double-high mounting tape in between all along the edges.  I dumped in my sequins, and sealed the whole thing using washi tape, then framed my shaker box in cardstock and patterned papers.   On hindsight, I'd leave more white space between my stamping inside and the beginning of my framing.......

supplies: The Craft's Meow Chalkboard Birthday, Simon's Doll Pink and Green Apple inks, Hero Arts Pool ink, washi tape from Doodlebug, cardstocks: Simon's Surf Blue and Doll Pink, Lawn Fawn dp from their Hello Sunshine collection, flower sequins from Simon Says Stamp and unknown clear ones, acetate, 3M Scotch foam mounting tape

On my second card, the whole front is built up with mounting tape above the stamped card front.  It was just a matter of die-cutting the scalloped rectangle, then cutting out a square from the top of it and the patterned paper front, then enclosing that "hole" with mounting tape and affixing the panel to the stamped card base.

supplies: The Craft's Meow Fly Free, Simon's Audrey Blue ink, dps from Pebbles Garden Party and Echo Park's Bundle of Joy Dots & Stripes, Nesties scalloped rectangle die, Simon's Leanna butterfly die, sequins from Pretty Pink Posh Springtime Mix and Lawn Fawn (greens and aquas) and my friend Heather in Ireland (the big crescent sequin on the butterfly), acetate, 3M Scotch foam mounting tape

And 1 more, redoing a card I made earlier this year for our little granddaughter.  Wish I'd have known how to make these back then!

supplies: white and Simon's Cotton Candy cardstock, Hero Arts Lil Hoot, colored with mostly Letraset Flex markers, and Whoo Loves You stamps, Simon's Falling Hearts stencil and worn lipstick distress ink, Nesties circles and scalloped circles dies, acetate, 3M Scotch foam mounting tape, pink and green sequins from many sources

Thanks for visiting me today.  I encourage you to give this a try - these are really so much fun to make and the sky's the limit!  And if you didn't come from Paulina's blog, please visit the Pretty Pink Posh blog for some wonderful examples of shaker sequin cards!

In back to comment again, I did try the dryer sheet over the acetate and Ii think is does help with the static. Now how to stop them from sticking to the tape at the sides--lol Have a great week!
