St. Nicholas Day

In honor of St. Nicholas Day, here is a card using a beautiful image, that Jacqueline sent me, of Father Christmas. We lived in Luxembourg in 1979, and I remember their St. Nicholas Day celebration. He had a sidekick, Black Peter, who carries sticks for the naughty children.

Happy St Nicholas Day Lin! We used to celebrate it while I was growing up. I would put my boots in the window and I would get fruit, nuts, chocolate and a small gift. The bad kids (not me!) would get a branch or stick in it.

Love your St. Nicholas card! In Germany we celebrate this, too! On the evening before "Nikolaus" we put our boots outside the doors and "Nikolaus" puts something into them.

Hugs,
Vanessa

Adorable! My daughter just asked me about it yesterday. She was disappointed because we didn't put out the boots!
