Buttons

The challenge at the Ribbon Reel this time is to use buttons and ribbon or twine.  I have no idea why I am so drawn to buttons - I have jars of them, but still "need" more!  Like so many others of my generation, I can remember my Mom's button tin, filled with buttons cut from clothing before they were recycled.  I even inherited my MIL's buttons.  Here's my card for the challenge:

supplies: PTI melon berry card base, dps from BoBunny Little Miss, PTI Beautiful Blooms II #1, crochet lace, peach and green buttons, crochet lace, hemp twine, Hero Arts  330053 Heydey Sentiments

The buttons are the perfect touch on this card. I love the soft colors and your flowers are always so pretty. I love buttons, too, and don't use them enough.

Lin, love all the softness of your card and what a perfect match with your buttons :) I too have buttons in a tin from my mother - her motto was always "waste not, want not".

Buttons are so perfect on this beautifully soft card. I am always searching for ways to use my button collection and I enjoyed your 'memory'. I have button tins as well, played with my sewer Mom's buttons as a kid. Nice way to repurpose something we love in a gift to someone else. TFS

Isn't it interesting how, we as crafters collect these little things, like buttons. To me, it's theraputic to sift through them, examing them. It's the same thing with sea shore shells. Say that fast 3 times. LOL What a lovely card. I love your take on all of the different challenges. Oh I wish I had time to do more challenges. Until then, I will enjoy your contributions, Lin. I adore your card art.
