Yellow roses and taking a little break

My sweet husband and I are having a little getaway, so I'll be missing for awhile - today is our 40th wedding anniversary!  I couldn't ask for a better partner in life, he is my everything,  and I hope that we have many more years together!  I'll leave you with this beautiful yellow rose; my wedding bouquet was made of them.

This picture prompted me to make a card, not necessarily for our anniversary, but just because I like yellow roses.

supplies: yellow and white cardstock, pinkpaislee "Hometown Summer" dp, Hero Arts S5264 Antique Flower Background, mustard seed distress ink, S5324 Simple Frame, versafine onyx black ink, S5507 Envelope Pattern, antique linen distress ink, Stampendous Q098 Rose Points, gold colored pencil on details, Verve VS-0144 Bloom and Grow (leaves and sentiment), Hero Hues grass chalk ink

Happy Anniversary! 40 years, how awesome!! We will be celebrating 32 yrs. in September, Lord willing. While I love the look of roses I cannot take the smell...always made me feel nauseous-I know! right? sounds totally uncool to be sickened by a beautiful rose! But I do enjoy their beauty and yellow roses are very special since they are the state flower of Texas.

Hi, Lin! Happy Anniversary! The first flower my hubby ever gave to me was a yellow rose, picked from his backyard. I adore the card you made. Wishing you many more happy years! :-)

Happy Anniversary my friend! Your card made me smile immediately.

Ours is this Saturday, the 11th and yellow roses are symbolic for me too. Bob sent me a dozen the afternoon of our wedding with a note saying, "see you at the alter." I have gotten a dozen yellow roses every anniversary since. Now I'll smile and think of you this weekend!! Hope you have many, many more!!! Hugs, Marcy xoxo
